I never use those features or use HDMI passthrough, so I guess it doesn't support every single use case, but it sure is handy, and unplugging 1 hdmi is not a huge inconvenience even if you normally run this bypass loop.

LOL Wut? Typical Microsoft? The microsoft of today has changed as lot, and would hardly classify as typical microsoft. They are even giving free upgrades to windows users. The Microsoft in front of you is very different and far more consumer oriented than in the past. FACT.

Very very simple. Your family is watching TV on the main screen. Your xbox is connected to said main screen. Now you can use another screen, game, and everyone in the family is happy.

TADA. And of course keyboard and mouse are not enabled! Why would they be? That would create an unfair playing field.

People on this site will certainly underestimate how big this is. This move is for the masses.

They will still sell to ps4 nerds.

Wow, so .. no-one you know upgraded? I guess that it never happened then.

LOL thanks for the pro tip guy regarding getting a life. I think I have that part covered :) The PC specs are not even that high. The video card is the biggest expense, the rest is like, 4 year old standards.

This partnership is PC oriented, not xbox oriented. The controller is xbox, but with pc adapter. this is a very smart move. Microsoft owns the desktop, occulus wants in. Partner with the new FREE MS OS, ride the gravy train. Y'all can't see what this is about?

The Sony fanboys are screaming like their wives just cheated on them. Hilarious. This is mostly about a partnership for Windows 10. The XBOX streaming part is just an aside.

Most people already have a decent pc. Seriously, what year is it? My laptop could run occulus no problem. What if I already have a 65 inch tv and I'm still bored?

Based on what is it a better experience? Your intuition?

LOL I see you are completely out of coherent arguments. Congratulations, you have hit the bottom.

lol wireless is not the bottleneck. something is wrong with either A) your internet, B) your home router. Likely it's a pile of shit. Makes all the difference in the world if you live in a house with other people, who also use the internet.

So you would rather be stuck with outdated OS features, and baked in bugs like the bad old days?? What would you suggest! It's as minimally invasive as humanly possible.

3882d ago 9 agree0 disagreeView comment

For the reason they did it, it's totally justified.

When the robots are hunting humanity, video games will be by far the least of your worries.

I was responding to the post about api exclusivity. look up.

DX12 is truly a revelation. If you understand what they are doing, it is immense levels of optimization and redesign for a multi-threaded environment. It will help all systems that support it, especially PC but including Xbox One. So most will have some benefit, good times.

ALL Gaming will make a huge leap. PC and otherwise. This will set new levels of expectation.

api exclusivity is 100% against the philosophy of both Microsoft (today) and direct x 12. doesn't even make sense. they need wide scale adoption as fast as possible, not deals with square enix.
