Well lol. I play console games on a monitor up close at my desk... they look "ok".
It's the 30fps and input lag that gets me on consoles though :(
Well, LoL is a free game apart from skins/boosts/other way to get runes. So they are entirely justified in following a microtransactions model.
Portal 2 is a fully priced game that has practically no play time if you compare it to other fully priced games.
I would hardly count skins as day 1 dlc though :P So yeah people are overreacting.
If it was something like a pack of levels, outrage would be justified. Especially if the content physicall...
Well. If they charged subscriptions for cod people just wouldn't play it.
You have a vote, It's called your wallet, use it (or... don't use it actually :P)
I never buy any dlc or partake in microtransactions. It isn't hard.
EA are trying to change how they operate due to financial feedback. So it must work.
Also, NCAzrael. If you look closely then yes, Valve are slowly turning the way of the devil, but it isn&...
What Kotc said. Portal 2 was far too easy and short and plain. It does certainly have good points, I lolled a lot. But the puzzles are er.. wait, it's a puzzle game? I didn't notice :/
Also, it's more like 7 hours and 3 minutes long.
- and library was excellent on Legendary mode :D so much fun.
I don't like reviews because a game has to be bad to get a score worse than 8/10. They give nearly every game 9 or 10 for some reason. TBH, for a game to get 10/10 it has to be perfect. Even the likes of FF7, MGS and OOT should only get 9/10 (even though I couldn't describe any way in which they aren't perfect).
And what's with sports games crowding the top spots on metacritic? I understand it is just a side effect of the way they do things but in general I do...

tbph. Nearly any game could be developed with that goal in mind. The source engine makes that job particularly easy though. There isn't any real reason why every 2011 game couldn't run on a 2001 graphics card - as long as the rendering can be simplified enough through the options (ie, removal of most/all shaders and a wider range of level of detail options). Obviously though, somebody with a 2001 gpu won't be interested in playing bf3 etc. :D
I think their main ob...
same. But I think its just because the minimum version doesn't render the dirt and smudges on them - it will affect shader complexity/detail too. Maby close-up in full res it would be a different story :P
Almost as clear as the difference between 360 and ps3!
But I troll, obviously PC on minimum looks better than either of those :@
/joke...
Those minimum settings can't be the actual minimum. Maby with a nooby option dropdown box selection, yes. But I am sure the settings go far lower than that.
Still, Valve always do a good job optimising, I played Hl2 fine when it came out on fairly decent settings on a non-gaming laptop ...
well, red faction 1 was the only one with proper destruction. Not manually scripted/edited in destruction (like bfbc2)
red faction 1 had the only good destruction in a red faction game

"A game is only as good as the engine that powers it, both graphically, as well as in animation, storyline, gameplay mechanics and interactivity"
What?
Graphically. Skyrim looks amazing but it's nothing close to the jump from morrowind to oblivion. This console gen is holding things back still. (needs higher res textures for a start).
Elder Scrolls are always great games though. I still play Morrowind from time to time.
Portal 2 is far worse than Portal 1. Not much else to say about it really...
DS retails at $99 so they can get rid of obsolete stock because the 3DS is now out (thought it has no games...).
Duh.
sony has a lot of new exclusives this gen but tbh they are bad games compared to the last 2 gens.
512MB isn't quite enough RAM.
The controller sounds like a total joke. There's no way they'd put so many expensive components in it, unless they want to retail it for > $100 or something ridiculous and get forever hated by the gaming community. Controllers should always cost £35 or less.
Also, if it has all that crap then it will be annoying and cumbersome - it'd be like playing a handheld plugged into a TV. If it had proper handles th...
Bowling games. 'caus it's not like you can... you know... go to a bowling alley or anything.
in what way does crysis fully utilize it?
Also, the length of time it has been out has nothing to do with why many devs havn't adopted it. For the most part, they don't need to change that much code. It's the governing development processes and management system that have restricted it's adaption into new games. (because a guy in a suit who has never programmed a single line of code or made a single 3d model or made a single texture or made a single piece of c...
