How can people only afford 500GB in a PC? Fast 1TB drives are only about £40 now. Stop buying from crappy high street retailers unless you enjoy getting thoroughly ripped off.
But anyway. I like physical for big release games (like the witcher 2, skyrim and bf3) but theres a whole load of other games that I would really rather just download: like indie games and small developer games. The only reason it's possible for indie devs and small devs to stay in business is ...
no, PC games are selling more than ever before. And that is all because of digital download and the record low price for gaming hardware. The big AAA titles sell worse on PC, but that is because they are usually console ports so deserve to get pirated for the crappy effort the devs/publisher put in (especially when the engine is multi plat already and is capable of providing a perfect PC experience if the dev bothered to use it's capabilities: ie, bioshock 1+2 and mass effect 1+2 are fail...
If the dlc is more than about £5 I won't be buying it.
I'll buy all but cod.
wow this will deffo be worth it! what with all those network outages and stuff
lol. Valve and Sony make better headway connecting consoles and PC with Steam than microsoft did with Gay For Windows Live.
Take the PC software to consoles, not the console software to PC.
Wow, looks like they are actually doing it properly. Old school sonic fans won't be as dissapointed with this one as the other recent sonic abominations (some of which were OK games by their own right but just generally smeared Sonic's reputation all over the walls).
"Think about how magnificent single-purchase gaming would be for a title like Super Meat Boy. At home, you could play it on the 360, complete with comfy couch and pad controls. But you'd also be able to take the game with you on a laptop, without needing to buy an extra copy."
orrrrrrr..... you could buy it on PC and plug your laptop into the TV and controller into your laptop? Why do people assume that PC gamers use mouse+kbd 100% of the time?
...
@Rettom
can you still buy finest hour these days?
Well, if they make the game fun - isn't that all that matters?
FPSs these days have boring, repetitive or cliched single player campaigns (not just FPSs infact). There is so much room for so much more.
A game like this should be constantly over the top all the way through if they wan't it to be truely entertaining. Duke Nukem is a perfect character for that kind of over the top insanity, the game won't be tied into being serious or realistic - the...
The whole point in the ID Tech 5 engine is how the envrionment is made though, so that is why it stands out so much.
The texture res is really low though, but we can't really blame ID for that because the consoles can't handle anything better (and the 360 can't store anything better either).
As FatOldMan said though, 60fps on consoles while looking like that is a job well done.
The BF3 beta is the only reason anybody would even want medal of honor.
Shouldn't devs give betas to people based on their hardware setups? Isn't the whole point to test different systems? (PC)
Good :D
Hopefully it won't be like the Crysis 2 demo lol. I personally am still expecting some consolization or at least a whole load of bugs. Yes I know they said they are taking care with the PC version, but I'm not sure I believe them. I hope that they at least tweak the network settings to actually make use of the better network setups in server farms (high upload speeds etc, ie - not the peer to peer quality settings that most console ports stay with when they ar...
oops. yeah. 68/80 is higher than 7/10 :P
The powered and detector rails are awesome but the weather is just annoying when you are busy sandboxing around (and can't be disabled).
Also, "If left unpowered, it will act as a regular rail." is incorrect. An unpowered booster rail acts as a break.
That's a fairly sensible review. I would say a score of 68/100 makes sense.
People often complain about every DW game being the same, but who actually bought 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7? And all the ones in between? I would understand the dissapointment in that case lol. But if you only experienced 2, 5 and 7 then you would remember the series with high regard. DW still has good potential for improvement, they need some new game designers to step in and take it up a notch - and n...
"try & make the best game possible"
Dice don't do that... otherwise bfbc2 wouldn't be so damn buggy (and every other BF game so far). But I still like and respect their games. I would hardly say they are succeeding at their attempt to make the best game possible.
BF3 could be utterly fantastic, but if it's another cesspool of bugs I won't be at all happy.
Also anything that relies on EA servers is obviously not b...
well... If they over-relied on fallout then yeah, the next one would be a flop. But elder scrolls is pretty much incapable of failing unless they mess it up or release them too regularly (they should continue waiting for big graphical/technological advancements like they have done thus far).
However, I can see that they don't want to just keep following that 1 single IP's success. Getting a new IP recognised isn't exactly easy. But it shouldn't be a problem fo...
5000 DPI but does it track properly? need a review...
Well maby if they got actual gamers to play test their games... (I noticed this in much of the industry so I am assuming they do the same thing as EA, Realtime Worlds, Ubisoft etc. All of which don't/didn't actually get gamers to playtest or QA test their games at all)
And lol: "We extensively tested Portal 2 with outside play testers to insure the game was not made too difficult". You got that right, portal 2 is the easiest damn 'puzzle' game i'...
