Anything first person is better with a mouse.

The only way in which skyrim is "tailored" for controllers is the menu system, and that is because Bethesda couldn't be bothered programming one suitable for a mouse (more sales on console, even though they probably get more profit off the PC version). Even though I guarantee that most of the time people spend playing the game are going to take place on PC (mods keep the game alive for many years).

No. That's what it is. And all it is. It is the DEFINITION of a hindrance.

Doesn't work perfectly on PC...
The Morrowind UI was perfect.

I play with a 2h sword and a bow and a sword & shield and spells all on one character. Switching between them in the middle of combat is extremely cumbersome and was FAR better in oblivion and morrowind.

They made pure casters better and added dual wielding but made it really annoying to play anything that combines combat styles. It would have been fine on PC if they made the UI pro...

Problem #2... isn't. You can mark misc quests. You have to mark the individual quest in the list and the selection in the left window like normal quests.

I would say they need to bring back proper journal entries. If you forget/miss what the NPC said then there is rarely enough info to figure out what you are meant to be doing. Most of the time the quest marker makes it irrelivent, but sometimes that alone doesn't explain and the scanty quest info you do get to read u...

"no idea what you mean about 'hit detection being way off'...haven't noticed that."

Yeah, I think BF3 has some of the best hit detection ever. It's certainly 40 trillion times better than any previous BF game (wait... that would mean there is no hit detection lol). It's better than in CS:S, which is saying a LOT.

I really dislike all of the BF3 maps. On conquest they are junk compared to older maps in the series and on rush they ...

Sometimes the sound bugs out and most things become silent for a while - the only audio is my own gun shooting yet there is still loads of action going on nearby. It fixes itself after 20-30 secs or if I die. It's most noticable when I'm in a vehicle and the engine goes silent.

Also, other players shooting nearby is far too quiet; sometimes there can be enemies shooting just around the corner or in the same building but they sound miles away. Then my guard is down bec...

"I actually love the destruction in BF3 a lot more than BC2"

Same. It is better for the gunplay and map balance, especially when there are 64 players - it would be silly to let the maps be flattenned.

"To bad the patches on pc didn't adress anything important."

Unfortunately, they have to prioritise the crashes and connection problems that a minority of people were getting over the more gameplay and UI related issues (which affect everyone!).

Though, the patches they have released have only fixed a minority of crash/connection problems :(

I have gotten annoyed with BF3 and will get back into it later once they fix the BS.

This is quite possible. But I think it is slightly too early.

Perhaps nVidia and/or ATI have some secret technology that they havn't released and are working on perfecting it for consoles before releasing specifications/chips to board partners for the standard platform (PCs/workstations/servers). I know that ATI have 28nm in the pipeline but unless it is VASTLY (40 - 50%) better than current chips then it will be too early to include related tech in consoles. That, or the...

"My laptop with an HD5650"

Yeah, I have a laptop with a 5650 too (havn't tried skyrim on it yet). Love that GPU, it's such a good choice for mid-range gaming laptops!

Especially at the res of the screen on lappys that tend to include it, 1366x768 or thereabouts. The performance/pixel ratio is great.

Hell, my laptop ran BF3 better than my desktop does. But it suffers with other demanding games like TW2 and BC2. I think the im...

Morrowind on Xbox eventually became nearly unplayable :P

Especially considering how often that game crashed and made you wait 50 trillion years to load again lol. (actually something like 15 minutes after 200+ hours playtime but.... that is an insane loading time in itself so it deserves such a degree of exaggeration). Also consider that the world has about 3x as much content as Skyrim and that the only fundamental differences in the engine are rendering, physics and animatio...

"It was the first time a first person shooter actually felt right without pc controls."

Timesplitters. Obviously that reviewer is a total retard and has played an extremely limited library of games, not even going to read the damn thing after that insolence.

Also, potentially PD and Goldeneye. But the reason TS is important is because it has the same thumbstick setup that a load of uninformed people attribute to Halo even though it came out more tha...

I agree with the review overall.

But the weapons are supposed to be slow to unlock. People do tend to sink massive numbers of hours into BF and one of the problems with BC2 was that the unlocks were too fast.

I don't think the campaign should have any relevance to the review score AT ALL, most people probably havn't even played the campaign yet, I never will (havn't done the BC2 one either).

If it wasn't buggy and the maps wer...

I am still waiting for them to release a CoD that actually improves on 4 not craps all over it.

There is improvement that can be made without changing the game from what it is, but they don't even bother - they just release a worse version every time. And that is just the definition of the failure of a series.

When they make a CoD that is actually good I will be buying it. But if it's worse than MW1 what is the point?
