I already have one. I just think MS should've bit the bullet and dropped the price to $399 with Kinect included. This undoes the last thing they were shooting for this generation.
Now it has to be about value (which they still have a ways to go yet) and games, games, games. E3 will be very telling.

No. MS built the XBOX ONE around Kinect and marketed as such. If they wanted to compete they should've just ate the loss and dropped the X1 w/Kinect to $399.
This is not a better value. It's just a cheaper less appealing SKU.

It should've remained an add-on / choice. Please join us all in a place I like to call reality. The problem with MS and the XBOX ONE is the fact that so MANY devices already offer ALL that the X1 does long before it even launched. Tablets, laptops, pc's, smart phones, smart TVs, Sat & Cable receivers, set top boxes, etc.
I have a TV that has motion controls and a built in camera. I can use my smart phone to control my TV, sound system, Skype, youtube, etc and so on and on and on.
XBL was in fact unstable, and in some areas completely down, for nearly 2 weeks during the holidays in 2008. I should know I had 2 teens boys wanting to tear the house down because of it.

A week after the XBOX ONE launched my XBL account expired. I wasn't using it at the time to go online and I came on here and said I thought everything being behind a paywall so I can at least use the browser or youtube was ludicrous. The controller is not only more reliable but just as fast if not faster. Plus Kinect has limitations in navigation and you end having to use a controller anyway. My Kinect experience has been way more a miss than hit. I stopped using it months ago and just navigate using my controller now.
