@GodGinrai
Drive Club is nothing like NFS. Evolution is going for more of a balance between arcade and sim just like PGR. A few of my friends are at E3 this week and that is what they are all reporting as well.
Most NFS games are pure arcade. Just press gas and away you go. DC, FH2 and PGR require learning the apex, heel and toe driving and knowing when to go full throttle or feather the gas peddle.
From what I'm hearing FH2 has better AI...
I'm sold.
It looks great.
With games like this I usually go with aesthetic damage at first but after I get the engine down solid I switch to full damage to increase the intensity of the game.
Even off screen I can see the visual differences between this and the original Horizon. I think it's freaking awesome that they encourage you to blindly cut across fields in point to point races. This is going to be a helluva lot of fun to play on my whee...
No. Horizon is an open world game. You can just fly around the map enjoying your ride or stop at markers for events, click enter and race. Overall it's a really fun game. It's more for racers that are into going balls to the wall with their hair on fire and power sliding around turns to cross the finish line 1st.
Drive Club looks like a PGR style game. Both will be great. Between FH2, DC and Project Cars my rig (FFB cockpit) is going to see a lot of hours of attention...
"but Sony hasn't lost momentum"
^This!
That was the whole point of E3 between MS and Sony. In order for MS to close ground that had to come out of E3 with momentum shift and I didn't see that happen. Regardless of the pacing of their press conference, which was excellent, they didn't show anything or make any announcements that had anyone jumping out of their seats and jumping online or rushing to a store to pick up an X1 right then and ...
If Halo, Gears and God of War has taught us anything? Is there is no such thing as last. I thought Halo, Gears and God of War was over but there was Halo 4 (soon to be 5), a new Gears in the works and you can't bet your house there will be another God of War.
Just because it says a Thief's End doesn't mean it's over. I thought that myself for a brief second but than said money / sales will decide whether or not they will continue the series past 4.
Slightly off topic but what I want to know is what about 360 gamers? Where were the games MS? I mean we are sitting here debating who won E3 which is simply a matter of opinion but not showing games for your other platform is a fact.
I know a ton of gamers that own the 360 and haven't made the jump to this new generation yet and all of them are like "WTF I guess we are SOL."
On topic:
Presentation - MS
Content - Sony
I guess the whole "Racing is much bigger across the pond" eluded you.
"I am so sick and tired of this "my **** is bigger than yours" contest"
That's why I married a woman with tiny hands. ;)
On topic:
US vs them is all a matter of opinion / subjective. It can be debated but not decided. I have both consoles (PS4 & X1) and I'm not saying that to validate my opinion. My opinion is just that, my opinion.
With that said. I liked the pace of the MS press conference better but ...
"No Driveclub"
Evolution Studios is based out of UK so you will see Drive Club August 17th at Gamescom. Racing is much bigger across the pond. Sony puts a lot of effort into E3 but they save quite a bit for the other 2 big shows (Gamescom and TGS) as well.
@LoveOfTheGame
Most of which were multiplat and most of them will look and possibly run better on the PS4.
That's the problem for MS this generation. They can't rely on the multiplat excuse this time around. They have to rely heavily on exclusives and IMHO non bias opinion, Sony has a significant edge on them in that area.
"but then it went cold in the center with all the numbers talk,"
To this I say, "exactly and WTF?!" I'm not a shareholder and don't give a sh!t about these numbers. Sony either should've had a shorter conference or included more hands on footage. The middle of their conference had me cringing but I did like their offerings more than MS.
MS had much better pacing but not one thing from them wowed me.
Uncharted 4...
Unless we are talking about "presentation" of the conferences I disagree. MS had the best presentation overall (Sony, Ubi, EA, didn't see Nintendo yet) but Sony had more surprises and content that I want.
Sony talked WAY TOO much and with people that have no business in front of large groups of people talking. Also they spent way too much time on how PSNOW will be offered and too little on VITA and Morpheus.
I realize there are two more big show...
If by best conference you mean the actual presentation? I agree with you. But if we are talking content I would switch Sony with MS.
Not only did Sony have more surprise announcements but their games are on another level graphically and are more appealing to me personally.
The only game I really liked that MS showed was Sunset but I've already seen it and it won't have long lasting appeal. I'm a huge racing fan so I'm excited for Horizon 2 bu...
Stop saying it was CGI.
Uncharted's cut scenes use the in-game engine. When I played Uncharted 2 I literally would wonder why the they stopped talking during cut scenes until I realized the scene was over and I was in control of Nate again.
Why would any of you think Naughty Dog isn't going to do the same with Uncharted 4? Well other than the obvious reason. Uncharted 4 will more than likely set the bar for visuals in console gaming when it's released. As...
Sony will have too much to show. Let us not forget Sony isn't just the PS4. They have a PS3, Vita and Morpheus to talk about and show games for.
BTW, and come to think of it, where were the 360 games from MS?
Regardless of hype it was mediocre.
I kept waiting for Halo 5, Gears announcement or a drop the mic and walk off stage moment. None of them happened.
C+
Agreed.
To be honest I was disappointed. Not that I thought MS would bring the house down but I kept hoping for Halo 5 footage, Gears announcement and something, anything, jaw dropping that would be a "drop the mic and walk off stage moment".
Their show had great pacing but most of the games we either already knew about, were multiplats, CGI trailers or won't be out until no one knows when and there was way too little info to have an impression ...
Great pacing.
Mediocre announcements.
Good show. Nothing special.
Very forgettable.
"Now actually go play it."
