Jumping to the defense of the Wii U? You sound a little like an over emotional school boy with a crush on a teacher. Problem is with people like you, you see it as strange should anyone say perhaps nice or positive things about a toy, but reading, writing and commenting negative things about a toy is just completely normal.

No, that's just a little bit psychotic.

Honestly, all you hear PS4 people talk and talk and talk about is SALES. SALES, SALES, SALES ...

Just a shame how any new-gen games worth playing are all on the Wii U, and off-TV play comes free as standard with every Wii U. PS4 buyers missed the memo.

Enjoy... errrrrm... Knack! It's a totally rubbish game, but at least it's 1080p and that's all that counts, right? Right?

Wii U has been selling more or the same as the X1, though.

"The Wii U also has a small install base, relative to consoles and PC. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have combined for more than 160 million sales to date, while the Xbox One and PS4 together total more than 8.3 million systems sold worldwide so far. As for the Wii U, that system has sold only 5.86 million units as of December 31."

The writer just combined the total PS4 and X1 install base as one number like no one should question what he just did! B...

"The Wii U is dead and buried — even in Japan, its sales are now at a dismal 8,000 weekly level. It’s all now riding on 3DS."

Childish and unprofessional use of language. After 7 days of the PS4 on sale? Please learn some patience before jumping to extreme conclusions 4 years too early. Terrible 'journalism'. Just terrible.

He needs to elaborate on what he says. What about the Wii U makes it in his opinion clunky or awkward?

He says his new game is all about touching which only makes it viable for phones and tablets - and laptops because they have a mouse! Well, the Wii U has a touchpad and a mouse (Wiimote)!!

He then somewhat concedes the Wii U is the most eligible of the consoles to receive the port "with some tweeking". But then goes on to say the SteamBox would be ...

You could use the GameCube controller again if you wished: http://www.amazon.co.uk/GC-...

Generally, most people who have one say it's one of the best controllers they've used! Maybe you need one of your own to see.

You can also buy a GameCube pad adapter off Amazon. It plugs into a WiiMote and the Wii U picks it up as a CCPro.

I can pretty much guarantee you, you will have more 'fun' with the Wii U over the other consoles. You have your PS4 for multiplats, and you get the Wii U for all the supreme quality games you just won't find on any other console. I don't know if you had a Wii or not, but if you didn't, there's another lifetime of stellar games you can get to play in Wii mode too.

Just look at the amount of high scorer Wii U games on metacritic and decide for yourself. ...

Nintendo are too modest and always just let their games do the talking, rather than bragging and shouting (most of the time totally overhyped and unwarranted) about it like gamers are so used too from the other games makers.

What they should have done at VGX is have a skilled/pro gamer there and played a speed run with Kranky Kong, and people might have 'got it' more than they did.

Everyone is hoping for an epic 3D adventure from Retro, but gamers sho...

Absolutely awesome. It deserves that and more. The thing is just gaming heaven. It's so highly polished; the controls are perfect; it's challenging and highly rewarding; it looks beautiful like a cartoon; and it's just an absolute pleasure to play.

It's a gift from the gaming Gods, a pure Nintendo classic. You play it and you wonder just how much work must have been put in to it.

I have to say though, I bet anyone who complained about Retro wo...

The details in this article are at least 6 months old now, so I'm not sure why the guy suddenly decided to write about it, and I'm not so sure why it's such a hot topic.

Wii U is made of modern and much, much more efficient hardware than that of the ps3 or 360. It has a GPGPU several generations ahead of the those in the ps3 or 360 (Wii U is capable of much greater colour reprsentation and no Wii U games, even the poorest of ports, have ANY screen tearing).

What they should do is invent a machine powered by all the crazy Nintendo articles on N4G. It'd be 10x more powerful than the PS4.

The reviewer must absolutely love Mighty Switch Force then.

And then people complain Nintendo games are for kids; too easy; too much hand-holding; not hardcore... Then they're too hard... and so the cycle continues.

There's very good video review of the game here by a farther who plays it with two small children. He seems to think it's a fine game for yonger childeren. Maybe Kotaku guy could ask them for some tips ;-p

"As I see it, there are two options for Nintendo: release a new console with a hardware far greater than the PS4 or Xbox One or to maintain a small yet avid install base with the current Wii U".

Yes, this is definitely Nintendo's only option. Without a doubt.

Burning the 6 million people who have already invested their money into a Wii U by ditching it (and in turn, them) and pulling a new even more powerful console than the PS4 and X1 out of th...

People are allowed to make honest mistakes, but I find it a shame you don't feel the need to report disingenuous people like Chrono for trolling Nintendo submissions with the same constant nonsense, though. If you want to paint yourself as some sort of news submission evangelist, then at least do the job correctly.
