I see your point, but I see no reason to own a handheld. People who routinely use public transportation are the only people who should shell out $200+ for a handheld. And that hardly makes someone "hardcore".
imo a genuine threat is what makes a great boss in a fps. Something big,tough, and extremely dangerous, strikes a fairly real nervousness when I encounter one of these enemies. Like the Cyberdemon from Doom 2, or more recently the Brute Chieftains from Halo 3.

The battle in Conan has more structure than Heavenly Sword imo. Being able to freely block and counter-attack is much more fun than simply pushing a button repeatedly as fast you can.

Proof is everywhere, from the gaming media all the way to national media, that the ps3 is nothing more than a sony in-house movie player masqueraiding as a game console. If people buy game consoles to play videogames, then the ps3 is absolutely in trouble.
I was lucky enough to get into the beta, and imo COD4's multi-player isn't that great. I have always enjoyed the SP of the COD series though. COD2 is still one of the most intense SP experiences I'v had in a FPS. Hopefully, COD4 will carry on the tradition.

Live is the place to be for online gaming. Ps3 still hasn't passed the 360's graphics prowess, or A.I. capabilities. Also,360 is the platform to own if you want to make it to MLG.
