This is still just a rumor. If Sony has taught me anything it's, don't get excited, or you will be let down. So try to hold steady people.
The PS3 isn't a product that is worth the price of admission. Anytime that around $800 leaves my billfold, I feel it. And simply put, the 360 does everything the PS3 does, does it better, and the 360 is $200 cheaper. How much logic does it take?
Looks like we have some Sony fanboys as contributers to this site. It is a well known fact that 95% of PS3 titles are graphically inferior to their 360 counterparts.
If the lighting couldn't be done on the PS3, then what does that mean? I have never seen a Splinter Cell game that a Playstation console could run the way the game is supposed to be run.
I find it disconcerting, that OPM had already printed the magazine and shipped it, yet in this statement he acts as though they were unaware that a beheaded goat might be too much for some people (young people especially). It's pretty obvious that they knew all about it, this guy knew every detail of the promotion.
Personally, I believe it was to balance the mindshare of casual gamers who are being told by Sony that the PS3 is the uber console. Do I think that it was a good move? Personally, no. The 360 has already shown that it is as good as and in some ways better than the PS3. A price drop would have made more sense in my opinion.
I wasn't aware that Japan used whales for food. However, I find it extremely hard to believe that the heads of Sony's games division were clueless to this event. Obviously, the person who made this statement knew every detail of the event.
The gameplay looks like it would be a simple hack 'n' slash title. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance comes to mind. Some of the better looking moments that I have seen in the game are completely scripted and are triggered by pushing a specific button at the right time. Not that that is a bad thing, it turned out O.K. in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
When anti-gaming laws start taking away your games, you'll have Sony to thank for that. So go ahead and laugh it up, because you won't be laughing when the next God of War, GTA, Halo, Gears of War, etc gets banned in your country because of BS like this.
I appreciate your understanding, and I understand your point aswell. I don't know if your a parent, but me personally, I just want my son to grow up to be a good man (not like the scum from the Springer show, if you know what I mean). He may miss his PSP briefly, but just like the point that you made, it will pass. There are still plenty of other great games on many different consoles for him to enjoy. I apologize if I came off a little agitated before, the whole subject just really burnt my ...
I can understand what you are trying say. But as a responsible parent I am appalled with the extent Sony has went to make money. I am not naive enough, not to realize that this whole "party", and the shipping of this sickening event in the Official UK Playstation Magazine to potentially young people was not known by the heads of Sony. This was planned to be exactlly what it was, and it was planned to reach as many people as possible regardless of their age. Do you think it's O.K. to...
It's not the death of an animal that bothers me. Death is a natural thing. However, would it bother you if someone took your dog and cut it's head ALMOST off (leaving just enough sinew to make it's head dangle from it's body), then eat it's entrails straight from it's gut, throwed out on a table for everyone to view, all just to promote a movie that has satanists in it,and then mail your 13 year old kid a magazine with explicit pics of the event. It's the degredation, exploitation, calculating...
Parent's worldwide need to be informed of this type of people that are selling their children videogames.
I am no animal activist, but this actually turned my stomach. Not just because it's gross to see any animal decapitated. I am more sickened by the people who actually thought that this PR stunt was a good idea. It's folks like this that feed the agenda's of ambulance chasers like Jack Thompson into doing the things that they do. Some people might think that what I am about to say is extreme, or petty, but I will never buy another Sony product. Simply put, if Sony is willing to kill, and explo...
Obviously you Sony fanboys don'y remember Sony saying they expected to have sold 3 mil PS3's by the end of 2006.
I don't want anything about my generation to be associated with a company as crooked as Sony. "Gaming Generation" is acceptable, but screw the playstation.
No one, especially the liars at Sony, can get me to believe that the main focus of the PS3 isn't blu-ray. It's simple, trojan horse the movie player you invented into your best selling product, saturate the market with it, then sit back and enjoy the kickbacks that feed your TV, stereo, and motion pictures divisions. That's what really going on.
Yeah, Sony just lied again with this article.
There certainly has to be a hardware design flaw with the PS3. I say it's blu-ray, the PS3 was designed around selling blu-ray, not videogames.
I guess Kutaragi will have to give up his spot on The Benny Hill Show.
The battle between the 360 and PS3 is already over. 360 has proven time and time again that it's the best next-gen console to own. The Ps3 was meant to be a vehicle for blu-ray, and it shows as the PS3 is lacking as a game console.
