@Axecution: He's not wrong about the snow piles though. Aloy has no effect on deep snow when she walks through it. Her character clips through. And also foliage (except the long grass) has no reaction to her character either. No biggie though and I wouldn't be getting my knickers in a twist like shloobmm3 is. I just finished main story and platinumed a few hours ago. The game is amazing in every respect. Beautiful world, excellent combat, interesting missions and the story was brillia...
There was an article on here not so long ago stating that CDPR were officially finished with the Witcher series for definite. Who knows what to believe. I'm all for more Witcher but with them working on Cyberpunk I doubt there'll be any official news for a long long time yet, if ever.
I bashed it too, but to be fair, what they had showed at that stage wasn't pretty. Those gifs look amazing and it seems it's come a long way. But I'm also with The_infected. I could forgive having the odd ugly texture or 2d tree here and there. It definitely looks like it's shaping up to be one of the best looking racers ever released, but that's not going to be enough, for me anyway. So many things need complete overhauling. If there isn't a full on proper damage mode...
I have to say the game does take a while to get going. My first few hours in I thought it was really good, but when I got loose on the whole map and started discovering more about the world and it's lore through main missions it completely hooked me. I'm about 50% through so far so I can't say if it's better than the Witcher 3 yet. For me, it'll be very hard to top TW3 as I loved that game, but what I've played of HZD has been amazing so far and could be my favourite ...
I don't get it when people say consoles are holding back visuals in pc games. Surely that's down to developers?? And it also doesn't explain why pc games haven't visually matched or surpassed quite a few console exclusives that have come out in recent years.
@UnSelf: Day/night cycle seems consistent for me anyway changing smoothly and when it should. I have noticed in some situations the dynamic contrast can be a bit overkill though. For instance, in the area where you kill your first sawtooth, if I go into one of the burnt out cabins the whole screen gets very dark and Aloy's model goes completely blacked out like a shadow except for her hair. Haven't encountered this in any other situation tho. When your screen is getting dark is the sk...
Don't want to check patch notes either as I'm only 50% through but that hasn't happened to me anyway. Only bug I've come across so far is with sound fx. Sometimes if I kill all machines in an area I can still hear them. For instance if I cleared out a whole swarm of glinthawks I can still hear wings flapping when there's definitely none left in the area. It's only happened a few times tho.
I have to say I was keeping my hype in check for Horizon, just judging by the killzone games. They were solid shooters but I thought the lore, universe, characters and stories from that series were unimaginative and a bit of a bore. I was afraid HZD was going to be the same but I was so wrong. I'm about 50% through and the story so far has me absolutely hooked and I can't wait to find out what happens next. GG really knocked it out of the park in every aspect. Everything about this ga...
Mass effect 1 is definitely my favourite too. Just discovering everything about the ME universe/lore was mind blowing.
I think I had just over 95,000 online kills in Gears 3 if memory serves me correctly. 10,000 really isn't that much. Having said that though, Gears 3 is my favorite mp game of all time so I've probably put more time into that game than any other and played it regularly over the course of quite a few years.
Edit: I have to add I mainly played King of the Hill and averaged about 40/50 kills per game. Some games up to 80 kills so you rack them up pretty fast.
They're probably just showing the character using maxed skills. To be fair if they showed gameplay with him getting his ass handed to him it wouldn't be much of a show case. First game was the same. At the start I was running away from Warlords scared but towards the end when you had nearly everything maxed out you were just an unstoppable force slaughtering everything that stood in your way and they were running away from you!!
Exactly. MS had a huge problem with RROD but they acknowledged it and did everything in their power to clean up their mess. This is Nintendo literally just shrugging their shoulders and saying "not our problem" when it clearly is. They're digging a hole for themselves. There's already a large number of unsatisfied customers and it's only launched a few days. How many more will there be after a few weeks of wear and tear on the system and all other sorts of problems start...
Agreed. I was so close to buying an X1 just for Gears and Forza but I can't bring myself to drop that cash just for 2 games. Man I really do miss Gears mp tho 🙁
There was a huge library and variety of games on the PS2. If you couldn't find anything on the PS2 to whet your appetite I'd love to know what games you were playing at that time? I remember there being a period of about 6 months where I was buying two games almost every week. There were so many great games that came out for that console.
And that's why I'm not clicking on this. The lore of ME is up there with the best of any franchise. For me, it's even up there with Star Wars, and I'm an absolute Star Wars freak.
If that's true they're on to a winner.
Agreed. There's plenty of AAA games that are more than a few years old now that they could give. Even the likes of the Order. That's been out a number of years now and it's not like they're really going to sell anymore copies of it.
I care too. The first one was visually stunning, aurally mind-blowing and the gameplay was tight. It was just very shallow and they made a lot of bad design choices. They've set a good foundation for the follow up.
I absolutely loved the game but have to agree with Klonoa on some points. The camera was terrible and I had about 3 situations going through the game that I knew where to go but Trico just flat out refused to follow commands. Sometimes it took up to 10 minutes just trying to get him to do the simplest thing like jumping up on a ledge that was right in front of him!! There were a lot of hair pulling moments in the game but the charm more than made up for it.
I'd actually love to see a present day/near future AC. Taking all the best elements from previous AC games and the original Splinter Cell games in an open world setting could be amazing.
