They're horrendous. First I was getting a pop up with all the top stories that randomly jumps all over the screen and have to tap "X" up to ten times to get rid of it, now there's a pop up video at the top of the screen and an ad at the bottom, making Chrome really unstable. Any chance of sorting this out guys?? It's becoming infuriating to browse the site and I'm nearly at the point of never visiting again.
I applaud ND for thinking outside the box and agree not everything needs a happy ending, but it would have challenged my emotional intelligence if any of the new characters they introduced were anywhere near as likeable as the originals. For me, the more it tried to force me to like Abby and her crew, the less I cared for them. I think it was too blatant in trying what it set out to do, and it just didn't work for me as I had little to no interest in any of them. I was invested in the fat...
@Enigma, please don't tell me the term "yank" is offensive now?? 🤦🏼♂️
The yanks don't know how good they have it. Games start at €70 here in Ireland which is ~$80. Even on hardware too, if the new consoles are $500 they'll just charge €500 here, which will work out ~$580.
Had a similar experience with Bloodborne. When commenting on an article here about the hardest boss in the game I said it was that bastard you fight on the roof of the church who's name I can't remember now. Funnily enough, he didn't seem to cause anyone else major problems, but everyone else's opinion of most difficult bosses I seemed to have no problem with. Very interesting.
Can we all agree the Valkyrie Queen was an absolute bitch and a half though?
The story and characters couldn't engage me as much as the first game and left me ultimately disappointed, but every other aspect of the game was phenomenal. From visuals, to audio, presentation, animation and especially gameplay which was hugely improved over the first game raised the bar for every other developer. I was hugely disappointed with the story, but you have to be in denial to say that it isn't a masterfully crafted experience.
I thought Joel's death happened too early and it could've been a much better story if he had a bigger part. My biggest problem was with practically all the new characters they introduced though. None of them hooked me and I never really cared that much for any of them, Abby, Jesse, Lev and the others 🤔 Which reminds me of another thing that stuck out for me while playing, that I could never remember who was who whenever someone's name was mentioned, as I didn't have an...
In all honesty, the more articles that I come across here, the more the apologists seem like the bigots.
You don't have to be a literary genius to understand the plot of this game, and it's ridiculous to throw around the notion that people didn't get it if they didn't like it. ND did something radical which a lot of people liked, and a lot of people hated. You're trying to explain to someone why their own opinion is wrong. Personally, I didn't like it. I didn't care for any of the new characters ND introduced, including Abby, and the entire plot after Joel's untim...
Whatever about her muscle mass (which seems very unrealistic for anyone to achieve in the middle of the apocalypse), it's her ability that irked me more. Joel was a bad mother f*cker, but we didn't see him nor anyone do anything on the same level as Abby. I actually started laughing when I first started using her hand to hand combat, practically ripping people's heads clean off their shoulders with her bare hands. As with everything these days, they decided to make a strong woman ...
@DonDon3000: Hit the nail on the head and couldn't have said it better myself.
@Furesis: Whatever about spending €70 to play as a character it seems absolutely no one cares for, I feel more burned for other reasons. The trailer that first revealed Joel, "you didn't think I'd let you do this on your own, did you?"............ I felt the start of the game was like getting stabbed in the back, but getting to that scene in the game felt like they were twisting the knife 😂 Man, I'm so disappointed with the story in this game, which is a shame as...
I'm not finished the game yet but I've just found Abby and up to this point the story is very, very disappointing, especially comparing it to the first game. There's so many other places they could've taken the plot if Joel had a bigger part.
I'm only about 7 hours in to the game and I have such conflicting thoughts. The game is an absolute masterpiece in every way, but they well and truly f*cked the narrative literally from the beginning. I couldn't really care less about what's to come story wise, which is such a shame as technically, I think it's without doubt the greatest game I've ever played in every single other department.
Subverting expectations to the detriment of everything now see...
If I'd had my first playthrough of the first game on grounded, I'd probably have thrown the TV out the window.
Did you not pre-load??!!
@mikeslemonade: Christ Mike. It gets a perfect score and your "take" from that is the PS4 held it back? 😂😂
It's sitting there in plain sight. How is this an incredible discovery?
@Naruga: Why are you bringing up logic again as an argument again when Brazz just explained why there's Robo Dino's and the logical reason for them being??
Meh.
