I don't think I'll ever understand why kids go ape sh!t over achievements, they just seem useless to me.

You are correct.
You couldn't buy LAIR at any major Canadian retailer until Sept. 4th so I'll wait till next week to see the real LAIR numbers. My friend and I went to Best Buy on the 4th to pick it up and to both of our suprise the game was sold out.
Hopefully GTA IV has this feature, I'd take this over DLC any day.
Why are you people approving this? The story is a dupe. I like reading PS3 news as much as the next guy but lets not crowd the front page with old/duplicate news articles.
None of my AVI/DivX movies played :(
Watch the whole video, at the end he shows how it controls during a level with action going on.
Looking good, ground textures look better than I remember.
The funny thing is, in GRAW2 you have to go into the options menu and turn the SIXAXIS controls on, they're off by default lol.
And what's better? Forza Motorsport 2 perhaps? Give me a break, I own 1 of the cars in FM2 and I can say with certainty that the physics in that game are completely out of wack, I'm not saying GT5 will be any better but I have higher hopes for the Gran Turismo series than I do for the Forza series.
I guess Snake standing against the wall and not being seen is on the same level as Sam having 3 bright glowing green lights on his head (as seen in every previous Splinter Cell title) and still able to hide from the enemy hey? Both games are great so why try to downplay the other? Just enjoy both games ffs!
It was my understanding that both the Blu-Ray camp and the HD-DVD camp were under investigation by the EU.
I understand what he is saying but I certainly hope the ESRB doesn't take on the MPAA's film rating system. If you're wondering why I feel this way watch the documentary "This Film Is Not Yet Rated". With any luck the ESRB will stay as far away from that burning pile of crap as possible.
But you have to pay for it and the game wasn't even close to being in the same league as the UT franchise.
Another review that’s been struck by the hype train; no game in my opinion is 10/10, there’s always something that could have been done better or something it’s missing. I played through the demo a couple times and sure it was pretty but I just couldn’t shake the feeling that it’s the same game I’ve been playing for years just slowed down and with better water effects. Please don’t take my bubbles for stating my opinion!
Bioshock, Mass Effect, Two Worlds, Assassins Creed, Army of Two, Too Human, all are unproven IP's yet they are drawing lots of hype. Just because something is an unproven IP doesn't mean it cannot/will not sell systems and/or be a AAA game. Gears of War was an unproven IP and look how many systems it sold. I fail to see the point in your post.
Sony's had some pretty good PR for the last couple of months. They really pulled out all the tricks at E3. When Jack gave Kaz a hard time about Ridge Racer I think that was one of the best PR moves I've seen lately.
Just thinking about trying to play any of the games in the Total War franchise on a console makes me cringe. I'll stick to my PC for my RTS fix, after all it's the last real genre that hasn't been dumbed down for consoles and I hope it stays that way for a long, long time.
