Hateno Village is where I'm trying to get to but can't because the wind is too cold and kills me too fast. It also tells me that the peppers don't work in such extreme weather conditions. So as of right now idk how to get to the village.
Fem Ryder is haunting lol. Pretty bummed that my favorite franchise seems to be taking a step back, but I can't help but laugh at this kind of stuff.
Loved Dishonored 2 and this game reminds of that, of course it's being developed by the same team so there's that lol. Playing this after ME:A, NieR Automata, and P5. I'm so curious to see which game ends up being my GOTY at the end of the year. So much coming out and there's still more to be revealed. RDR2 and Mario Odyssey will be heavyweights for the crown this fall. I just hope they both actually come out.
I understand that enormous open world RPGs tend to have wonky looking facial animations but this is just straight bad. This can be a major flaw in open world games, cause it takes you out of the experience when it becomes obvious that you're playing a video game. I'm pretty good at accepting that these games dump more resources into the world and rpg mechanics, so I'm not expecting ND level facial animations, but it also shouldn't be disturbing and unsettling. Don't wanna piss off any hardcore fans but I think the media gave the game the kind of boost established beloved franchise get. I don't think it would have scored as well if it were a new IP. It's still a very good game, but highest rated game ever? I don't think it's that good, but that's just my opinion, most users I've come across think it's either really good, or damn near perfect.

Don't think I've done a dungeon yet so I'm excited to give it a shot, mainly been doing a crap ton of shrines. The sequel will be even better, they normally are considering devs get to take everything that made the original great, expand upon it, while also taking feedback and fixing anything fans felt held the original back.
Not quite sure how I feel yet about the game not placing markers where side quests are, it makes the game flow easier but it also frustrates me cause I don't know where to go to find quests lol. Also FFXV is easily the worst game in terms of side quests. Just a bunch of fetch quests.
I'd give it a 9 personally, not perfect at all but I could see why it received 10s. There's a lot of little things you discover on your own that just add to the game. The sense of discovery is insane and it just feels like that old school Nintendo magic to me. The weapon durability is total butt, and the traversal in the game is quite boring, but those are my only complaints so far. I'm about 20 hours in myself, definitely a GOTY contender.
The slow pace the game encourages could be a negative to some gamers. It doesn't hold your hand at all and I personally have some friends that don't like that lol. They want to be spoon fed the experience instead of building your own which is exactly what BoTW is imo. Nothing wrong with that sort of game, but I feel as though someone who doesn't necessarily enjoy open world games will find BoTW to be a grind. Hear we go again, 55+ million PS4s sold to consumers, 25+ million X1s, and you're claiming console cycles are dead...the market dictates that, and right now, it says no they're not.
Those lack of expressions on their faces is going to make me not care about what's going on in the quests. We all know we're playing games, but there's nothing more immersion breaking then when games make that painfully obvious. I truly hope every other aspect of this game kicks azz, cause those character models are hideous and the facial expressions are just off.

I think the DLC gets announced at PSX and comes out sometime next year. They'll announce a pro bundle for the holidays but it won't be revealed at E3. That's my prediction.
Yes but I'm worried that it won't hold my interest. I have OCD so when I buy a game I intend on finishing it lol, but I don't want this to be a dreadful 40+ hour journey.

Personally I prefer Horizon, TW3 was way too dense imo and the combat was lacking severely. The quality of the side quests were much better in TW3 tho, some of the best I've ever experienced.
Metacritic is not a good measurement for video game quality. That's determined by individual preference so it should never be taken that seriously by gamers. I think ppl only care about Meta because of the fanboy war lol, GTA and Tony Hawks PS2 are ranked higher than TLOU, BoTW, and TW3...
