One of (if not the) best multiplayer games I've ever played, and also one of the best FPSs I've ever played.
Got a lot of hate because people weren't willing to put up with the learning curve (which was more than worth it), because it's ahead of its time, because it's platform exclusive so angry Xbox fanboys who haven't played it bash it, and because THERE WASN'T A SINGLE FAIR AND ACCURATE OFFICIAL REVIEW.
Not so much from console sales. They try to recoup their costs on peripherals and games, so don't count on those controllers getting much cheaper. If you ever see a sale on DS3s, pounce on it.
Kratos can die, but he makes his way out of Hades every time--hence he can't die.
Dante CAN die, he just doesn't in the story because that's Game Over! If he did die, though, his mythology doesn't allow him to just walk back to the world of the living, so he'd stay dead. I don't know exactly what it would take to kill him though!
So Dante is the Joker now? Kratos isn't exactly a Dark Knight though...
Kratos wins.
I'm a huge fan of Dante's antics, but Capcom really dropped the ball with him. First Dante: epitome of badass. Second Dante: emo. Third Dante: young, a little too exhibitionist, but almost a return to form. Fourth Dante: old and worn out.
If Capcom hadn't screwed around with their most badass character ever, he'd beat anyone hands-down, too bad they did.
"Hardcore gamers are lukewarm to the Move/Kinect"?
Honestly, yes, I think Kinect will not be good for hardcore gamers (but that's because I'm a Sony fanboy), but I'm very excited for the HARDCORE potential of Move.
"Where are Sony and Microsoft going to get Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, and Kirby?"
lol wtf? The reason I don't own a Wii IS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT THESE GAMES. The lack of these franchises ...
Blog fails. Period.
Gameplay doesn't sell. Graphics do. Then gameplay hooks you. Real gamers are able to see beyond graphics when we purchase a game, but that's because we're informed--we walk into the store and we know what to get and what to avoid, despite the pretty packaging. An uninformed gamer will walk into the store, look at the back of the case, and choose the game with the best looking thumbnails.
Devs will flaunt their graphical upgrade...
Top RPG list without Demon's Souls = Hard Fail.
As for me, I found Oblivion extremely repetitive and that made it boring fast for me. All those Oblivion gates? After I'd collected every scrap of loot and killed every in the first few gates, I got bored and just ran straight to the jewel to close all the later ones. The NPCs felt extremely artificial, the story was bland, etc. Needless to say I wasn't impressed. Only a real Elder Scrolls fanboy would make that game...
Quality ALWAYS > Quantity, no matter how long I have to wait for it (there'll be other games to play while I wait for this one to be perfect). You can have 10 Forzas if you want, I'll be happy with my 1 GT.
BTW, Forza 2 has 350 cars, and Forza 3 has 400. GT5 will have between 950-1000. Both Forzas TOGETHER have less content than GT5. You say you got two games while we've been waiting for the one? I say you got two half games, and two half games together =/= 1 g...
Whatever happens, I'm getting this day 1. So, for Polyphony Digital, they've already won, because they already got my money. And, as for me, I'm such a fanboy of these guys that, even if the game fell short of "greatest simulator ever" my fanboy goggles would blind me and I wouldn't care at all.
That's how I shut them up! When a 12 year old boy talks, I say "Oh, hey, there's a girl playing with us!" Usually they either shut up or, better yet, they leave.
Sometimes the game will get on my nerves to a point where I just want to blow everything up... but I can't, because I'm required to stop 'n pop, or burst fire, otherwise I'll be decimated or my gun won't hit anything. Sometimes, I just want to blow the whole world up! (The game world, of course!)
I think the twitch stuff, 2 hit kills, is better for PC games. CoD fitting here.
Console games, on the other hand, are more for steady hands than twitch movements. Resistance 1, like you said, was great. I hate CoD on the consoles, but don't doubt it could be much better on the PC (but I'm a console gamer though).
I'm the one paying for this shit! I'm not made of money, I can only afford so much so I want only the best.
And whenever Microsoft has anything worth reporting, it's that they stole something from Sony.
"Hey look at us, we got FFXIV too!!!"
"Hey, look, we got Metal Gear too!!!"
Umm, no. No, they're not.
2 of the guys on this list of top 5 are from games that aren't even out yet. Actually, we haven't even see gameplay for either Max Payne or InFamous 2, so we don't even know what they look like in-game.
Fail article.
But the knife swipe can no longer hit players on the same team (so no more accidental knife kills) and they took away the headshot bonus for same team players (so if you accidentally shoot them in the head, they take regular damage, not headshot damage). Other than that, you can still get tked--but it really doesn't happen often enough to warrant RETURNING the game. I don't know what you were doing, but tks are rare enough to overlook.
What the fuck should it matter that a pre-order customer didn't pick up his game on launch day. He's ALREADY PAID for it, so it's actually HIS GAME the store would be selling.
The whole point of pre-ordering is to ensure you get a copy on release day. Hell, you never know for sure if a game is going to be good before it launches, so you're taking a risk pre-ordering, and you're doing the store a favor at the same time. Then they turn around and sell your c...
It's everything before him that's hard... especially when the effing rocket launcher guys come out! I didn't even know the screen could go so dark without dying... but I got it! :)
