just wondering... what cut content? please, correct me if i'm wrong

as far as i understand, 6th stone was broken by design.
- you find parts of it all over the game
- it is told that stone that broke was beginning of the fog
- flame lurker looks awfully like giant on the 6th stone and fl is in world 2

i consider my self ultra fan of ds and i have to wonder... why would i bother if both versions look the same (or different), in most cases, differences are so small that you don't notice it unless you stare at stand still pixels. i prefer better playing game over better gfx any day. demon's souls never looked especially gorgeous, playing was heavenly, while U2 for example looks gorgeous and plays bad.

what makes me happy about dark souls going cross platform is the fa...

game rocks, player sucks.

but... game is freaking demon's souls perfection.

yes, they are and why would invasion against 3 be such problem?

in my experience, fighting against 3 was easy as they were 99% beginners as good players usually didn't summon anyway.

you only had to utilize environment and enemies. also, if you went into any narrow area like stairs in 1-4 or bridge in 5-1 you could count at least 1 will suicide by fall simply because there will be too big crowd of them.

simple... make it open world, make character class choice actually matter, make weight play role in speed, make game on p2p network to avoid psn lag crap, copy rest from demon's souls.

...
...

hey, they did that already with dark souls;)

/*sorry, couldn't resist*/

really? hahaha. is depriving someone of online gaming some new age mass torchering method?

just what kind of suffering does depraving someone of online game entail? nausea? suicide? mental illness?

well, being white hat hacker all my life and pissed because sony removed otheros (i simply retaliate peacefully with not buying any sony product)... i still can't understand these hackers. hacking once... ok, hacking twice... yea, you showed them who pwns. but doing it repeatedly makes absolutely no sense at all. kinda like beating the sh*t out of paraplegic... 15 times in a row.

although, i have to admit that reading comments here throwing hellfire on my profession almos...

for my taste not, unless something goes wrong.

i always liked playing any TR more than UC2 (not comparing to UC1 as it was mostly shooter anyway, and a damn awesome one, still one of my top 5 games in life).

not that TR is better done in any department. i simply like exploration more than exploration with mass murder. while UC1 defined it self as shooter, TR as exploration, UC2 simply failed in that department, bit of both thrown into mixer with hopes for bes...

lol, for gods sake, no. if you like hardcore rpg genre, you'll have a ride of your life

they are different games so demon's souls is not requirement for dark souls. then again, demon's souls is just too awesome to pass by. just wait until PSN is back. playing demon's souls offline is the same as licking ice cream trough the glass. invasions and invading are 99% of fun even though single player alone is one of best games ever

disagrees are prob...

????????? wtf?

$ony... linux friendly? all Cell programming documentation was done by IBM, all Cell in kernel support was done by IBM. $ony only took chance to promote PS3 while it was new and had no games. when games came in abundance, $ony simply removed OtherOS to lower hypervisor costs.

hopefully, all linux enthusiasts will avoid $ony like plague. i know i am and i was quite a fanboy

$ony even mentioning linux sounds like insult to me

do you even care?

after reading getRandomNumber fiasco and what/how they actually hacked... seeing sony and security/protection in same sentence sounds like someone is promoting bad joke.

this would disagree. if true, then sony admins should be shot on site, since it would mean it is only sony fault

meanwhile in real world. joke is on sony

criminals? definitely. do i like them? hell, i hate them

but, since it is known everything is hackable it is in your best interest not to piss of entire hacker population. sony simply didn't get that lesson until now. everything they did in last year or so just accumulated to this situation.

if someone would be stupid enough to jump in lions cage while writing his todo list for next week... how would you call him?

lol, blame is never on vendor. you can give "holly wonder secure inc." products to bad admin and security will still suck. security is always just as good as admin and developers are.

it was bad design with holes in psn topology. although, truth be told, design without flaws cannot exist. every system has something that is hackable. question is just how much is accessible after hack and how much work hacking takes. and take it with a grain of salt, being able to acc...

"Best practice for DB security is to prevent access to it."

major problem being that you need some access to it in 99.99% and application server injection has already passed by firewall.

but if you mean to say it should be exposed with restricted API done in specialized custom built protocol and run in userland chrooted environment. yes, hiding is best practice;)

on which planet??? you can expect that from oss maintainers, you can expect that from small companies... but... not from companies like sony, amazon, microsoft. they simply care more about them selves than you. they are in it for the money in the end. and the shitstorm they get from bad publicity kinda makes me feel more understandable.

yep, now that psn is closed. information is safest possible.

in real world, breaches happen no matter who controls security. be it sony or someone else. there is simply no 100% guarantee on that. writing perfect code for complex thing like PSN service is practical impossibility.

best sony could do for security is to finally allow paypal and debit cards as payment methods. you simply put money on account, spend it asap and nothing can't be stolen even if y...

actually, no.

speaking as one who lives from maintaining servers.

if you are admin with any sense of self respect and decency
1st duty is being fair and inform customers about worst possible results so they can react proactive against them.
2nd is protecting what can be protected and
3rd is either solving the problem or rebuilding complete system
