No the publishers and developers do not get a cent of the your pre owned purchase. Multiple times publishers have approached retailers and asked "Hey, come on give us a fraction of your sales on our games" and the retailers said no. That is why the customer is going to get screwed over when the publishers cant afford to loose all this money and decide that every game should have a one use code.

Valve pc games normally have a lot of free DLC. Witcher 2 has added a huge ammount for free on PC as well. It all depends if people keep buying the dlc and PC Gamers dont buy it as much as they are used to free mods and dlc.

Im one of the people who loved the whole experience including the ending but im not really a mass effect fan and have not played 1 or 2.
But boycotts always fail, lets be honest most of us don't have the willpower to miss out on a game we really want even if it does these bad things. (DLC) I don't think online passes is a bad thing. Im a pc gamer and I dont feel the need to attack console gamers. You give us a bad name when you do that. But still what you say is true, after gaming on pc for the past year and a bit I have not been able to play a game at 720p (It just looks blurry and wierd) let alone anything below that.

eww but cryengine uses lua, I prefer unitys choice of languages and so I use Unity. They are also free and just gave away free licenses for iphone and android.

Well publishers want digital for a whole lot of reasons. Its cheaper, greener, has unlimited shelf space meaning older games are still sold for a very long time, no used games or retailers screwing them over. A whole lot of cuts they can make to their manafacturing side.
