Thanks very much N4G :D
First thing I have won
Optimization can go a long way but I find it very arrogant when people say developers just need to code better the 7 year old hardware is not a problem when it really is. Its a wonder that they get so far with 1gb of ram. Textures take up a crazy amount of ram. I still don't get where you want them to put the resources. AFAIK before you use anything it has to be cached in memory and if you keep removing things from the ram and putting it back when its needed you start drawing a lot of CPU...
90% of games coming onto PC you have not heard about and will never have a console version. Just look at steam, Most games are exclusive
@xXBlondieVanHarlowXx
The PC has way more exclusives than any one console and probably has more than all three combined seeing as we can play older games. I have my reasons for gaming on PC and I am not trying to put consoles down but this was an article about PC and immediately got trolled by a console gamer. He did not even mention a good game
You can't really say PC Gamers always say quality over quantity when IGNs PC exclusive list is bigger than any...
Let me play Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Planetside 2, Firefall, Team Fortress 2 (Good version), Natural Selection 2, Super Monday Night Combat, Arma 2 and DayZ and I will consider playing on a console.
What? Do you even know how to program? I develop games for a hobby and what do you mean stash everything in ram? Do you want them to store textures on your HDD and only load them when? The point is everything has to be cached to RAM. If you add the code "Texture2D myTexture;" to a program it caches it to RAM. if i make an integer "Int Myint = 511" that is also cached to RAM.
@OdinX
You mean taking shortcuts, Decreasing FOV to render less, decreasing texture size and other means to get performance around 30fps. I don't see how restraining developers makes them more innovative. If anything it holds them back
Money, like most business decisions
He means, publishers often release piracy figures and say "Heres how many copies we did not sell because of piracy" When really loads of people would not have bought it anyway as they find the game not worth the price for the content. A lot of kids find it hard to buy games legitimately on PC because its mainly digital and you can't just hand over cash, you need a card. If you were in this position of actually NOT being able to buy any games, would you give up gaming. Be honest....
Its much more likely to see a improved version in Arma 3 for Pc only again seeing as the mods developer works for the people who create Arma.
Edit: Bohemia Interactive have only made one console game and it was released on the original xbox.
No he does not lol. He makes all us pcgamers look like dicks half the time
Keyboard and mouse for me
wait what? Saying she looked like Ellen page is not sony hating. I like Ellen Page
Isn't that an abox arcade title. Im not sure how it compares to an army simulator with 225km2 of a map. With huge amounts of AI and realistic bullets, needing to drink eat and keep healthy. But correct me if im wrong.
Yer the biggest problem I see with a console version of this is ARMA 2 is a simulation and literally every key on my keyboard is mapped to do something. I can never remember what does what :P
Witcher 2 already is.
But most of the ps3s games are sub HD as well. The other stuff in your list works though
Played T1 and did not really like diablo 3 so this looks great, and its a lot cheaper :D
your not going to get 8x AA and 1080p on a next gen console. Mid - high range pcs stuggle with that ammount of AA. (Guessing thats the kind of hardware we will see)
Thanks a lot, congratulations to you as well, I happen to like EA though :P (good customer support experience)
