I wouldn't say that I am too easy to please. Other than games from Valve or Blizzard, I can't really name a company that has made a game that has lasted me longer than a couple of weeks, a month tops.
Portal, Counter-Strike (not technically made by them, but who cares it's their property now), Team Fortress(2), Day of Defeat (see Counter-Strike). On top of that they made steam, the best digital distribution software on the market. And add all those custom mods, and full games, people have made on the source engine, I would say Valve has done quite a bit.
What a coincidence, Uncharted should be arriving in the mail today from Gamefly. Hopefully I can beat the game before trophies come out in America. I want my profile to be clean.
The Source Engine is definitely starting to show its age, but as long as the game is fun I don't care.
Well this is semi-exciting news. I hope it turns out to be good, but if not I will just get it on PC.
Just because people who suck at games enjoy it, that makes it casual? If that is the case then I could name a lot of games that most people wouldn't consider casual, yet are. Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and even World of Warcraft, just to name a few.
While I don't necessarily disagree about how we shouldn't call it soccer, you can't really get mad at Americans for calling it soccer since that is what we were raised to call it.
Little Big Planet isn't even close to "casual". Sure some casual gamers might get on every now and then and check what some of the top levels are, but the game is made for true hardcore platformer fans. I think the biggest audience of this game will be the older gamers who miss the days when 2D platformers were THE genre. Other than that I think it will just be people who don't really understand the game, but hear great things about it who buy it. Now whether or not making a game ap...
You didn't actually read it in context did you?
One or two big game announcements at Leipzig, plus this, and I might just decide to buy another 360. As of right now Gears 2 and Fable 2 aren't going to justify me purchasing one of these again.
Gabe would eat them all. It's really no contest.
And now I scroll down and see someone beat me to that response.
I somewhat agree about the online thing. I think Rockstar felt that the online portion would make up for the fact that they went for a realistic vibe, and therefore took out some things that could have been really fun to do. The problem with that is some people, myself included, didn't like the online (I am not saying it is bad, I am saying it is not for me) so now I am stuck with nothing to do in the single player.
How could you not be underwhelmed? The game is meant to be a sandbox game, yet there's not much to do in the world. I think that is apparent when most of the GTA videos you see around the net is people killing themselves in different ways.
The only thing to really do in the game is do all the missions which after about halfway through are just the same ones with a different story behind them.
I really had a blast with the first half or maybe even 2/3 of the game, b...
I got to level 62 on my Barbarian. It was a fun game, but there just wasn't enough content to back it up. I hope to see them get back on their feet and make the game better in the coming months, but if not, I won't be going back.
I think top down is almost guaranteed. I think the bigger question is, what will they do with the touch controls?
They are all worthless.
Or people who are creative. I couldn't make a piece of art to save my life, but I have plenty of ideas to make in game. Whether or not they turn out to be good is yet to be seen.
The media also got to play Resistance 2 multiplayer in the Sony room, so it's not just based off the big boss gameplay shown.
Fat Princess is pretty impressive for a downloadable title. It will probably be 10 bucks, and for that, you get a 32 player, online, class based, capture the flag, multiplayer game.
Little Big Planet brought plenty of new things to the show. Bosses, vehicles, and they even showed you a "Power Point" presentation that proved this can ...
I say we raise Kubrick from the dead to do this one. If anyone can do it Kojima can.
Can't post in Gamerzone.
I expect number 1 to cause some controversy. I wouldn't put it there myself, but I would replace it with another Valve game. Team Fortress 2 is a great game though.
23 City of Heroes
I don't agree with that. Granted I haven't played the game since a few months after launch, but unless it has gotten a huge overhaul (which maybe it has, I haven't kept track of it) then it doesn't even deserve to be on the list at all. The character customization was great and it was pretty fu...
