Kratos' history stays canon, his past is destroying Olympus. Reboot means restart, return to the beginning. Soft reboot would be to use the same character and rejig the story a little for new audiences but return to Kratos' beginnings.

This is a sequel... After the events of all other God of War games, using Kratos' adventures in Greece as canon backstory.

Sequel.

Indeed, but the majority of the console market base has already decided that Microsoft is likely not for them... I'm not surprised after the terrible start to the generation, the lies about incoming exclusives year after year, their "vision of the future", and cancellation of promising projects.

It's going to be very hard for a gamer that actively enjoys Sony and Nintendo's offerings to think "I really need an Xbox One too", this far on into ...

Wow. Sony is going full anti-industry trend this year.

Did I go back 15 years in time? This is great. Cheers, Insomniac. I'm starting to feel like I did about gaming as I did before all this 'pay for your extras' crap.

The thing is, it doesn't matter what they say... They could tell fans that the ultimate single player and multiplayer experiences are coming at Christmas, along with a special boost to make the One S a true 4K machine with the promise of every game from every previous MS console supported...

Half of it will be lies, a quarter of it half truths and the rest will be up to whether they change their mind a few months down the line.

MS always try to set a ...

Because lootboxes isn't gambling enough, companies like to add buying games and gambling your money to see whether an updated shell six months to a year down the line was worth it.

Honestly, the publications giving this more than a 5 for lack of effort and future worth that may or may not happen should be ashamed for coercing people to buy this at full price.

What happened to creating original IPs? I get that there are genres, but you flood the market with anything and it eventually gets old.

MOBA and online shooters have been proving it so this gen... People will stick to the most established.

Just get on with The Division 2 and create it without the mistakes of the past, instead of getting sidetracked by a fad.

I would stop trying to damage control Lennox... You made a daft comment. Own your error and move on. Friendly advice.

A cartridge slot is the same as a disc drive, just different implementation of a way to physically insert a game.

Did you not own a console pre-disc era?

They had the initial trust of developers back in the original Xbox days. They lost Japanese dev support after exclusives like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon didn't get more sales than they though and dropped them for focus on western games. Capcom, Sega and most third party Japanese publishers returned to Sony for periodical exclusives, likely for this reason. They know Sony gamers appreciated Japanese developers since the original Playstation.

Anyone else will look at Mi...

Announcing that the future goal of your brand is an all digital, live service, microtransaction in every game, periodical updates to barebones platform games as a service is not planting a seed...

It's announcing that you want to deliver as little as possible over a long period of time, while gamers have to gamble on whether or not a game is going to be worth £50 in a year to two years time.

Games as a service is basically No Man's Sky, The D...

Very nice list. I would have had Talos I from Prey and the Sevastopol from Alien: Isolation in there somewhere.

Nier: Automata is a must.

4/5 for a game that he even states has little content?

That's an 8 out of 10 or 80 or 100.

For a pretty game lacking in content, it's a skewed score. So either paid advertising, or unskilled reviewer.

I keep saying this, but potential is not a viable score marker.

And yes, I have played it on PC. It's pretty monotonous after the first 10 hours, even with friends.

Dev kits around the 3rd parties for a short while, 1st party access beforehand. Sony first party devs take around 4 years on average a game... I'd say late 2019 to early 2020, so they can release with a decent lineup this time.

We'll probably have TLoU2, Ghosts of Tsushima, Days Gone, Death Stranding and possibly DLC expansions for God of War or this year's releases to cover the first half of 2019, so it leaves 6 months of third party support until PS5.

What if you want to play a BC game that you don't own already, or got rid of and want to play again?

I don't know about you, but I picked up Gears 2 last year for £5 from the local swapshop to play on my son's old 360 (yes I play a few Xbox games)... I checked after all the patches came in, and guess what? The same shop selling Gears 2 for £15.

For one game you wish to play, but don't have on your shelf, that's going to cost ...

Does that include playing with new skins with special powers and such like older games, or just a first playthrough while finding all the secrets?

GoW games were always worth an immediate restart.

Where did I say people had to agree with me? Again, someone making judgements based on nothing.

You can 'seem' all you wish, but again, it's created narrative because people behind keyboards cant read tone or guess the emotions behind most comments.

You're right though, I'm sure more swayed devs would put politics into games if they knew they would keep their sales high, but not everyone bows to liberal politics, and that's just l...

Nobody is opposing it, and your tone is exactly why people don't want politics hanging around game sites.

You can claim people are uneducated all you want, but it changes nothing that the people asking for politics in games where the creators have chosen not to include them, don't have the right to do force them to.

Basically, you are trying to oppress the rights of others, by berating them without any foundation. That is lack of education in itse...
