Not just that, but burying Castlevania and Silent Hill as franchises on gaming platforms were also two of the nails in Konami's coffin.
MGS along with those two and their employment practices just lost them a lot of customers.
"Make us one of those."
Being fair though, you see all the praise for half done jobs, more focus on BC and basically simpering about how good everything from Microsoft is on just about every forum/comment section from loyal fans...
If their customers stopped accepting mediocre first party, then live services and the next bit of tech to come along, and while Xbox starves itself of top quality fp games, then they may get something better.
Fanboys can be a detriment to themselves...
Star Wars Galaxies was real open world, and it was amazing.
They got exclusives on the X. Everyone knows now that DF must remain loyal.
Honestly, just don't click on their bullshit.
Graphics never made a game, it will always be gameplay. DF try to advertise the X based on one thing, but power just isn't enough to justify anything to a gamer over top tier games.
That's what all the publishers said about FPS games, MMOs, open world games, MOBAs and survival games...
Over abundance of a genre will make it boring eventually. One or two will get it right, but the rest is usually trash or wasted money because people will always go back to the best, unless they get bored of it all.
Hmmm... I can see Microsoft trying to sell more crap at E3 by stating something along the lines of,
"You think God of War was game of the generation? Wait until you see what we have coming up."
Of course it will all be bullshit, and but they'll try nonetheless.
Gaming Bolt has something to write positive about Sony?
Just goes to show that it depends on if they have a slow news day, they change their opinion for clicks.
You haven't got one from me, hipocrites. You'll be bashing the game for ad revenue on release.
Hwance apon a time...
The fairy stories in SotD are hilarious.
Man, can't tell you how many times I've quit a game because you can die in them...

Some reviewers are just plain bad. Had Wolfenstein II, Hellblade and Prey all spoiled, minor and major, from reading reviews.
There should be no embargo on reviews, but publishers should put them on specific content when they send out review copies.
It's as if journos think we only care about gameplay and don't think some of us like a good story.
Damn... So tempted to read or watch a review, but trying to avoid spoilers.
Hope someone does a list of non-spoiler reviews.
I've been a fan since day one... Not sure why anyone who has been following the series since then would be expecting the exact same GoW.
If it's downmarked for this, the guy is either obsessive or a latch on fan later down the line.
If he has genuine gripes... Fair enough.
Who are you kidding?
Friends? Aye, right. ;)
Is that why it's a bit chilly down here today?
I imagine if there was a certain circle bashing mini-game, they would have given it a 6.
I guess they can't deny a Sony game if it's perfect.
Jesus... It's bad enough on forums and comment sections. Think of the bollocks on voice chat.
"My console is playing this game better than yours... Nyananananaaa!"
"No it looks slightly better. Want to cross play God of War, Spider Man, or The Last of Us 2. Oh, wait..."
"Phil Spencer says single player games don't matter, lets's play Sea of Thieves. Oh! Hahahha. I forgot."

My one issue were the secrets. They worked really well in the original Doom, as the game was replayable, run and gun perfection.
Levels didn't take ages to complete, and it wasn't a chore to replay one to try and find everything.
Doom 2016... The levels are huge, mazelike, and as the writer said, pretty generic looking. I hated spending over an hour in each level trying to find all the secrets, that were also tied to upgrading your loadouts and s...
Yeah, I'm starting to agree.
AC: Origins was a great change for the series. I've revisited The Division, which seems much improved since release...
GR: Wildlands... They need to get rid of the lootboxes. I like customisation in my games, and the clothing feels very limited. Having it attached to lootboxes only is offputting, instead of allowing us to unlock the stuff in game too, like The Division's challenges gain you cypher key parts, they s...
If you rate the games by bosses like that, you will then MGS is 5 times better than 3.
None of the games after the first had such well put together boss battles as a whole.
