It's not FF fanboyism. It's the younger generation who will swear blind that FF was going in a better direction... Mostly those who played 13 onwards and looked on the older games as relics that needed to be modernised.
I was a FF fan from 6 onwards. Went back to play unreleased in the UK 1-5 and still think that anything past 12 was the beginning of the end.
People who click on Polygon articles, shouldn't be allowed to use the internet anymore.
Please stop giving them revenue, whether you're curious or enraged by their headlines... Just stop, and they will go away.
Enjoy creating GaaS. Hope you survive.
Too much choice. I stopped buying most games on release day, and just try to finish the ones I'm enjoying before I buy a new one.
There are exceptions, like Dragon Quest XI, that I bought play in between everything else. I did the same with Persona 5, and I usually buy Sony exclusives day one to support them.
Then I buy the missed games in sales when I have time to play them. When you have a shiny new toy to play with, you forget about the old one, th...
I will bet that the internet gets flooded with positive articles and reviews when it releases, and many cave to see what the hype is all about.
It's like the media and industry are working hard to push gaming into this horrible f2p model together.
More controversy, more money. Gamers need to start developing willpower before they kill the hobby.
The internet claims another victim.
RIP Prima. You will be missed.
Yes, because it makes me more of a man for playing games...
I just like to be entertained ffs. Leave us alone, you puritan, fun spoiling garbage.
Pathetic. So many weak willed out there that want to be the best... By buying their way to something that doesn't even help.
Wow... Fantastic. /s
Still not putting money in EA's pockets.
They should have went the RDR2 double disc route.
People should know by now these games won't fit on one bluray anymore.
Still, I'm not buying it anyway.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is why the governments with the help of the media around the world are always trying to link violent acts/toxicity/hate with video gaming.
Tax it with the excuse that it makes it less desirable for parents to buy games for their kids that will warp their fragile little minds...
F2P with micros, vs P2P with micros and DLC are two different discussions.
Totally off the mark there.
I'm doing a run through of Octopath Traveller now. It has really good gameplay, but I wish the story was more cohesive... That seems to be one of the biggest problems with the Square teams at the moment.
Their teams' turn based development game is still pretty spot on, but unfortunately they're convinced FF needs to be an action hybrid of some sort to appease western/younger gamers.
I've been playing RPGs of all kinds since the NES/C64 days. The western influence was a large part of the problem, as Square have been trying to push the franchise in this direction since XII.
Their confusion over how to strike a good balance on their more recent games is a huge factor in why they don't come out as quality experiences.
I've watched Square go from fun, enjoyable, must have publisher, to the muddled, too many projects on the go,...
Bland action combat, bland open world, bland fetch quests, 'bullet sponge' enemies...
If that's not western action RPG influenced, I don't know what you see it as.
2019 will be the year that gamers stop buying from AAA publishers that are pushing this shit. EA, Activision, Square Enix...
Hope mobile and subscription services fail miserably, and you don't start blaming gamers for your own downfall.
They should make XVI more like WoFF, and stop trying to do western style RPGs for the franchise.
Wow. Downvoted for the truth.
World of Final Fantasy is better than both XIII and XV, and it's not even a mainline game.
Bye SE. Not even touching KH3 now. Hopefully, you will learn a lesson.
Hahahahaha.
All out...
