This author is a whining moron. Here's a hint: You don't have to rebuy the games, it's your choice. However, for those of us who want to play classic PS2 games upgraded to HD, Trophy support, improved framerate, potential Move/3D support, and at a bargain price, Sony has given them the option.
I went back and played the original God of War I and II, and then played the HD collection. I can easily say the collection just plays better, especially on my 42" HDTV...
1. Who the hell is Rob Foor?
2. Who the hell cares?
Gameplay is rocking, and Sucker Punch has definitely stepped up the visuals. day 1 for me, no doubt.
Interesting find, and the similarities are there between the Reapers in Blade II and the ones in inFamous 2. Regarding the changes with Cole, I don't mind the changes in his look, those Im ok with. However, Im not digging the new voice. It just doesn't work for me.
Outside of that, the game is looking incredible, and it will be Day 1 for me
While Nintendo was the one who helped save the industry from total collapse, Sony and the PlayStation brand brought gaming to the masses. The PlayStation's success helped turn gaming from a hobby for kids into an prominent form of entertainment and a legitimate industry for everyone.
The PlayStation brand spurned a transformation in the industry, and changed gaming into the form of entertainment that we know it to be now.
You really are a fool if you think the 360 deserves to be among the greatest consoles in history. The only historic thing the 360 has done is have the worst failure rate of all consoles in history.
As of right now, I won't put any current generation consoles among the greatest. And if I had to choose one, it damn sure would not be the 360.
That they put the 360 above the PS1, SNES, and Genesis is a downright joke and travesty. It has done nothing to be placed above those three consoles. Hell, it hasn't done anything to be placed above the Wii or PS3.
Wow, HHG. Usually I don't mind what you do, but headlines like this makes you look uninformed, and just plain stupid. You know better than this, HHG.
ND likely wouldn't be handling the collection anyways. The God of War collection was handled by Bluepoint, and the Sly collection is being done by Sanzaru. Sony probably wouldn't have one of their first party studios handle the collections. They would have another studio do it.
Can't wait. If Evan Wells is saying the game is looking good, then that's enough for me.
Sorry, Hulu, but that's a no deal. If it's not free, Hulu isn't for me.
It isn't a perfect game by any means, but it's among the best in its genre, and one of the most technically sound, polished games to have been created. I don't think that qualifies as overrated.
Ok, so let me get this straight. The PS3 outsells the 360 worldwide for the entire year to date and no one cares, but the 360 outsells the PS3 for one week and it's worthy of a news post. Nice logic, there. Why is this declared news? Hell, it's not even a news article. It's vgchartz, give me something more definitive.
That being said, if it's still outselling after a month or two, maybe it's worth noticing, but until then, it's just a minor blip. All o...
That was downright pathetic. GT5 is going to trounce Forza 3. It's ok to admit it. You'll feel a lot better about yourself.
GT5, Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Twisted Metal, Portal 2, LBP2, Sorcery, DKC Returns, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Gears of War 3, Halo:Reach, Mortal Kombat, and Marvel vs Capcom 3 are on the list for me.
Im starting to think your name indicates your age, because that how you act. Very unprofessional and classless.
I wonder what they'll have to say in November, when GT5 and PD make them look like the fools they are.
That's good. Quantic Dream and Sony both have the same ideas when it comes to unique direction. I think if their next title is as successful as Heavy Rain was, Sony will push to make them a first party developer. They both just seem to fit each other.
It seems likely that it was due to sales, as they haven't exactly been very strong. However, there was also virtually no advertsing or any push for the game by Microsoft, so they didn't appear to give a lot of support to the title.
But like alpha, I also think that Microsoft needs these type of games to end the stigmata that the 360 is a console only for shooters. It does appear Sony is more open towards games, otherwise Team ICO, who had very low sales for ICO, would...
Game looks pretty good, surprising considering good Transformers games have been rare. It's unfortunate that this has to be associated with Activision.
If the author is meaning the end of exclusive games in their entirety, then that is an obvious no. There will always be first party studios that are owned or IPs that are controlled.
If the author is implying the end of third party exclusive games, then this I can see happening. We have all seen this happening this generation.
