Sony would unlikely buy those already established studios you mentioned as it would make no business sense, those games will by default release on a PlayStation console without Sony having to give them a penny.

I can see where he’s coming from re ps5 not just being a box with parts like a pc. They must also spend an awful lot on r & d just to design the thing so it has aesthetic appeal and typical Japanese with some sort of Philosopy behind the design. Would also think other factors around the custom airflow and the like would cost a lot given that it’s not a standard box shape

These companies do long term forecasts going even beyond 5years. Its clear that MS Long term forecasts for hardware revenue is not painting a pretty pitcure therefore they are in a transition phase to leave the hardware business behind and focus on being a publisher where there long term forecasts is looking healthier.

Still puzzled why Forza gets those review scores, thought about this and the only reasoning I can come up with is that Forza may have the wow factor when first played, perhaps the first 5 hrs or so, and then that dissipates the longer you play. However this is not picked up by reviewers as they don't spend long enough with the game.
