PC games are compressed and then installed on the computer. So the amount of space on the disc isn't the same amount of the game. It is substantially bigger. Also, they can take up as much space as they want when installing. Game machines uncompress on the fly. The compression in console games isn't as extreme as pc compression. Also, the 360 and PS3 are far superior in terms of hardware than the normal PC.
This way you won't need to worry about these flamers and the stupid war. You can kick back and enjoy all the excellent titles from both side.
Hey, not to bust your bubble, but I doubt that games will support 7 players. I think the main idea behind that many connections is for other blue tooth accessories ie. headsets, keyboard and mouse. Besides that, the only games that were previously more then 4 players were sports games.
and has already been posted
This is pretty old stuff. The video is old and the text has an update, but is old still. Waist of time.
I was impressed by the videos. I own a 360 and enjoy it. I am a fan of technology and games and the PS3 looks to not disappoint me. I don't care to much for the Genji game, but I didn't care for the first one either. The others look amazing. They will only get better also. As for all this arguing, it is pointless. I just had to put a positive spin in this forum. Those titles looked fantastic.
Looks like it is shaping up to be a good action rpg. The lighting and detail looks like what I would expect.
This was already posted. Get over it.
I bought a warranty with the 360. I am on my 3rd one now. I expect to go through 5 at this rate before they get it right. I will buy one for the PS3 also. Nintendo seems to be the only company that has ever had a reliable launch machine.
I can't wait for the flame wars to end also. Unfortunately, I doubt they will end. There is always hope.
I know how hot my 360 gets and if you enclosed it it would crap out also. This seems very likely that the conditions caused the problems. As for this post, I submitted it around 10 this morning and it never came up. Interesting read though. Shows us that it will come out on time.
This has been reported before. If you look at the date, it says SEP 22.
My brother works for Gamestop and they are waiting to take preorders after the managers meeting which will tell them what to expect as shipments are concerned. Both of us are awaiting this so we can get our hands on a PS3.
They are picking this game apart like it is a finished product. Wait a couple months and get your hands on the final version and then give us a critique of it.
This isn't a reward for loyalty. I am one of those who they are referring to. I am waiting on my 3rd 360 to come from them. The first two were manufactured in October. There was definitely some faulty equipment, more then normal. I knew this would happen because it has happened to every system (except the gamecube) since the Playstation 1 came out. Every batch of launch machines have had above normal defects. So to say "Microsoft showing appreciation to loyal 360 owners" is b...
Did anyone else notice that they were using real units not dev kit. The controller was wired, but the actual unit was being played. That is good news that there won't be any other delays.
I was reading the article and it said one person per PS3 online. I hope that isn't final. Maybe it is only for the 40 player matches. That would help to eliminate lag. I enjoy playing online with buddies every now and then on the same machine. This would be a little disappointing.
I find it ironic that microsoft says this when I am on my 3RD 360. The first two have died on their own. To me it seems that microsoft has pushed out "unproven technology." I know not everyone has had problems, but the PS3 is a proven as the 360. Or in this case it is as unproven.
#1 They are saving the demos for TGS. You could see that the unit had everything in it. It wasn't an empty box. Also, combine the 360 with its brick and it is pretty heavy itself. I know, because I have one.
#2 THEY WERE IN GERMANY. It was a German convention. The guy basically did the G4 host a favor. I don't think Sony actually planned for that guy to take the unit out of the case. That guy deserves some props for actually bringing it out. I don't recall Microsoft showing...
That is why it seems out dated. It is!
