I am disappointed that they don't offer 1080p video. I know they can't because of harddrive limitations. And upscaling isn't as good. But I haven't jumped on the whole digital download bandwagon just yet. I still prefer to get a disc and put it in the machine.
This does however give me the option to hold off on investing in the High def movie war between Blueray and HD-DVD. I think we are a ways off from full 1080p digital distribution.

"Stop being fanboys and be gamers" With comments like yours, you are definitely a fanboy. You say you speak the truth, but you are just like TheMARt, MS butt budies.

Sony released the cam on the PS2 first which did all of this but to a smaller degree because of the lack of processing power. So stop your fanboy crap posts. As far as ahead, Microsoft has only released some of you list BECAUSE Sony is. They are followers. the only reason they released it first is because the machine is out already. You give Microsoft way to much credit.

"This will change gaming history, this will introduce the new king " The only history it will make is in sales. As for a new king, wow you are off your rocker.
Sometimes your comments make sense and are grounded on reality, but with this post you have proven again that you are an idiot.

Now there you go again showing your arrogance and extreme gates but buddy fanboyism. It is definitely the best looking game out RIGHT NOW for any system, BUT that will now always be the case.

As for the article. There isn't any doubt that it will be the best seller, and sell over 1 mill. S A G A T is an idiot.

The micro transaction are evil. I refuse to download crap that should have been in the game in the first place. Take lumines live. The first of many evils to come.

if I would take this as official. He doesn't seem to know any technical info. I really hope that this is true because I was very disappointed in the 360 not up-scaling to 1080i when it came out. Supposedly they changed it now. I haven't tried it yet since the update.

However, I think that Sony isn't ready with the unified service. As the Resistance developer said, they could make it unified when they get the final word on the PNP. When Sony finishes the dang thing, they can patch Resistance since everyone has a hard drive. All this crap talk won't matter if this happens. Because the PNP service wasn't ready, some launch titles don't include online functionality. Resistance was going to have online gaming with or without the PNP. What about the other...

They are both. You know it. As with the latest 360 update. Fixes and improvements. I expect the same from the PS3. Shouldn't you?

This happened back in march also. Shortly after the first update my 360 got, it died completely. I check the forums and it happened to a good number of people also. So, now I am on my 3rd unit. Who knows if a future problem will occur. So far I have been very unimpressed with the quality of the physical machine. They keep breaking for no apparent reason. I however love the gaming experience when the stupid machine works.

I understand the article is "interesting." It only refers to PC gaming. So tag it appropriately. I agree with the article. If your gaming on PC, stick with Windows. I wish that would change. Apples are better suited for gaming but don't get the support.

So, what does this have to do with the PS3? It will offer Linux but doesn't solely use it. It was my understanding that it will be available for home-brew apps. This article has nothing to do with the PS3.

I was looking through your other posts and can't tell if you are trying to cause a flame war by this article or what. I understand what the article says, but it doesn't relate to the PS3.

From the 3rd page of the article

"Because the Xbox 360’s Xenos GPU utilizes a unified shader architecture and ATI/Microsoft have been promoting unified so heavily in comparison to PlayStation 3’s RSX GPU which isn’t unified, it has generally been assumed that DirectX 10 also requires a unified shader architecture. However, it turns out that this is not the case. In fact, we’ve poured over numerous DirectX 10 documents and none of them even discuss a unified architecture!"...

Look at the PS1. I know that rumble didn't exist when it first came out, but the controller was updated and took off after that. It could very well happen again. Controllers change.

There will be problems with the PS3 launch. I doubt that the same problems will happen. They have already gone to great lengths to control the heat problem. Launch hardware problems happen almost without fail. New machine equals initial problem. That is why I got the warranty with my 360 and I am on my 3rd unit now. If I manage to get a hold of a PS3 at launch, I will definitely get a warranty because I am expecting problems from launch hardware. It sucks to have to expect it, but I kn...

Well obviously my screen name is derived from reality. I am big and I go by Tim. I just didn't want to think that you were a K-MART or Wal-MART manager or junkie. Or owned a Porn-MART, see where I was coming from. As for Marty that would make sense. There was no enmity in my question. Just curious.

I get your argument as to the 360 being more optimized. I just don't think that a good developer with the right attitude would have any issues with this. The guys behind GO...

They definitely haven't maxed out the machine. I think what he is implying is they maxed out their programing capabilities as to the here and now. Given more time, research and development they will produce an even better product in the future. Just like you referred to with the previous consoles.

"There are statements with a workaround it can be used together, but it isn't unified easy as the 360 memory"

Every site that I have seen states that the RSX can use all the memory. How could this be a problem? How does the unified 360 memory benefit over the other? Wouldn't it be a simple programing command?

A side note: The Mart, how did you come up with your screen name? Or what does it mean? Just curious.

You should actually comment on the article and not just quote it.

Anyway, I am confused as to why these fanboys and biased developers keep bringing up the 256 mb ram thing. If I am not mistaken the PS3's RSX can access all 512 mb of ram. This would make the Epic guy's statement irrelevant. They both have 512 so it could be done. I like how the other member who is not as biased jumped in and said they had more developers on the PS3. Any answers?

I had heard that the kiosks would be arriving after today the 26th of October. I called my local best buy and they said they might get it tonight. I am not holding my breath for it. When it arrives I will definitely check it out.
