it could have been an in house issue. If there are excess PS3's sitting around, the company is loosing money while they sit there. They obviously aren't worried about Wii sales, since they can't keep them. 360 sales are steady, so they aren't worried about them. Their concerted effort would be to move the merchandise that isn't moving on its own. This will change when some new games come out. That will help move the units, not the employees.
Now, let them fix the scaling issue and upgrade the online features and they are in business.
I agree they should show it when it is ready. The other view would be to do what motorstorm did. They showed early builds and generated hype. With each build more and more people got excited and hyped about it. Both ways have their pluses and minuses. Personally, I would like to wait and see a near final build instead of an early build first.

Your right about RockStar. They hold back on the GTA info for some reason. They have done this with previous games. Nobody thought it would come out on time because they hadn't seen much on it. But the game still came out and was a huge hit.

It had mostly exclusive titles. Click on the PS3 link and God of War 2 is at the top and Metal Gear averaged around the middle of the lists. Surprisingly, the list consisted of a lot of multi platform titles. Some of these same multi platform titles weren't on the 360 list. Does that mean they think less of the 360 versions of the games or is it they are more excited for the 360 exclusives? For example GTA4 isn't on the 360's list but tops one of the PS3 lists.

To a hardware manufacturer the term SOLD is when the buyer (the reseller ie Best Buy, EB etc.)purchases the machine. They get their money then and that is what matters to them. Of course they want the reseller to sell them quickly so they will order more, but that is not the point. It is really not that hard to understand.

Not videogames. When I managed a game store a few years back, little 6 and 7 year old kids would tell their parents they wanted GTA. We would tell the parents that it was inappropriate for that age and show them the rating and content. The parents wouldn't flinch and buy it for them.
Its not the games fault. It is the parents fault for letting them get it and not teaching them right from wrong. Of course it is not the case for all the parents, but it happened way to often.

I see both sides bashing left and right out of control. It is ridiculous. I just posted the story because I enjoyed previous versions of the game.
It has a confirmation that the title they were referring to is warhawk. Thankfully it is still a rumor. This title was one to look forward to. Hopefully it won't get axed.
It could have been a major in-house title. Sony has said it has over 100 games in development in house. Only a handful have been announced.
I just can't see warhawk or killzone being cancelled. Those were potential system sellers. Then again this is a rumor for now...
