I liked it too. It was one of those games that you either "got" or you didn't. Unfortunately most reviewers didn't "get" it.

Last time I checked my local Gamestop still had GTA4, Fallout 3, Resistance 2 and even Brothers in Arms special editions floating around.
I didn't know that multiplayer=goty material. How odd then that the best games so far this gen, including most goty award winners, are single player affairs for the most part.
As for the the game that most sites will declare goty this year, let's just say that I hope Bioware has plenty of shelf space.

Pretty impressive. It's not hard to see why people don't buy the wii versions of multiplats, why plunk down $50 for something that's so dumbed down that it's not even the same game?
They'll have a new control scheme/gimmick. There's plenty of ways to exploit an uninformed audience. If they do introduce a new scheme MS and Sony will be the ones looking "last gen".
That's the problem you face when you operate with an arms race/me too philosophy instead of doing your own thing.
I'm not a Nintendo fan by any stretch but I'd laugh my ass off if they ditched motion controls altogether next gen and left MS and Sony looking pretty damn silly.

It's a double edged sword. Of course I don't condone piracy but I'm glad to see MS isn't sh**ing bricks and removing features to combat it. I'm sure they have internal research and figured it's really not that big of a deal.
Mass Effect 2 will get GotY, this will probably get the Fpsoty.
I consider immersion to be an absorbing story that I want to see through to the conclusion. The first time I played Mass Effect 2 I sat there for 9 hours straight. I didn't even stop to eat and only got up to pee when I absolutely had to. I only stopped because I saw it was going on 8am. I simply had to see where the story and my relationships were going.
