I'll get one eventually. I always buy Nintendo consoles. But, I've only bought a console when it first came out once in my life. I usually wait for an established library and for the more modern version. I want a larger hard drive, and a longer lasting controller battery, before I get a Wii U.

Good game, but it shouldn't be compared to Contra, being that you cannot shoot up or diagonally. The shooting plays more like mega man.
I had a few dollars left over in my eshop fund, so I picked this up the other day. It's actually fun and the perfect instant gratification game to play when you have a little downtime. Well worth 2 bucks.

I think it's time Little Mac from Punch-Out is introduced to Smash Bros. I mean he's one of the few Nintendo characters who actually stars in a fighting style game. This should be a no brainer.
People seem to be missing part of the point. The gift was supposed to be from Santa Claus. I know that if I got a used gaming device containing porn from Santa at 6-7 years old I would be traumatized too. Have some compassion for the kid and the parent. Put yourself in the parent's shoes. I would be crying too if that's how my innocent child found out Santa isn't real.
I want to see this used in a game like Mario Kart where one person is driving and the other is using panoramic view as weapon/special item turret. Can you imagine shooting shells at karts that are right behind you or beside you! That would be awesome.
I think I'm getting a 3DS this Christmas and this article got me more pumped up then ever before for this system.
Even though this article is an obvious joke, it does raise an issue. My ex girl's kids used to fight over everything, and it was actually a little disturbing. When I convinced her to buy the kids a Wii, they did get along during 3-4 player games like Mario Kart (although still fought over single player games). When I heard about Wii U, I instantly pictured all of the fights that would ensue over the tablet controller. Now this isn't Nintendo's fault, but the fault of the bad paren...

This is one of the most obviously biased titles for an article I've ever seen and that's saying something. I get it. Having two screens on a handheld might have inspired the idea for Wii U. But that's where the comparison ends.
I hear people saying that Wii U is basically a console version of DS. The only people who say that are Wii U's detractors. And it's inaccurate to say the least. DS cannot do five player local co-op, asymmetric gameplay, or playing ...
I can't wait to play the new Animal Crossing. Next year looks great for 3DS and PS3. It's a good time to be a gamer.
I would like to play it, but I need to get a Wii U first. My plan is to get a Wii U after the price drops. I rarely get a new console until it's been out for a few years.

I really like this article. I agree with about 99% of everything it said. Games haven't changed that much in the last ten years beyond better graphics and online functionality. Where is the new experience to be had? Don't get me wrong, I played and enjoyed plenty this gen, but I have the same worries about next gen and where games go from here. How do you make Uncharted better? How do you make a FPS better? I enjoyed those games this gen, but I don't want to pay for a rehash eithe...
I completely agree. I finally played the demo at the local gamestop and I was very impressed. Not only was the game beautiful, but it played excellently and intuitively using the Wii U gamepad. This is one of the titles that I'm most excited for this year.
