Good article. Usually I try to say something that moves the conversation further, but I really cannot disagree with anything I have heard here. I have liked all of the Zeldas and I really enjoyed Skyward Sword, however, I think the series could use some new ideas to push the series forward.
But that seems to be more of a symptom of a disparity of skill, rather than a faulty level design. Things like that are bound to happen. Maybe it never bothered me because I was one of the more skilled players in my particular group. Anyway thanks for responding.
"3D World’s multiplayer troubles me, if only because other Mario platformers have had shoddy multiplayer gameplay on stages engineered for single-player gameplay" <-- this is an opinion.
This is not the first time I have heard someone complain about the multiplayer aspect of the NEW SMB titles and it's an idiotic thing to say, because it is factually incorrect. Where is the evidence that the entire game was not designed with multiplayer in mind? It just goes...
You may actually be right. They have three announcements coming next week. 3.

Thank you for responding. Now I do not have to, because you made all of the points I was going to make. :)
Yeah, they probably went straight to the strip club.
I rarely comment anymore, because there are few out there who are capable of having a conversation. But I applaud you for your intelligent comment and your use of the facts. Your assessment is valid, and I happen to share it. The video game industry has devolved into a mob mentality where people are content to not think for themselves, so it's nice to hear from a sane person for once.
And that goes double for this article. There is nothing to disagree with in the article...
I'm upgrading my GPU soon, and was going to go with a 7870. The cheapest, non sale option I found was around $200. You got a link to show me where you are seeing the 7950 for around $200? Sounds like a good deal.
I've never owned a gaming keyboard before, mainly because I rarely play any pc game online; and I have never had a problem playing single player games with a regular keyboard, and on top of that, these things add too much to the cost.
That being said, I am considering getting one after my recent build, nonetheless. I love games and any interface that enhances the experience is interesting to me. I will definitely keep this product in mind when I am ready to purchase one....
I'm not disagreeing. I basically made a similar decision. I cannot afford a 7950 for another year, much less crossfiring two of them, but more power to you. However, I am satisfied with my overclocked 8120 and my 2gb 7850 for now. I weighed the pros and cons the same. I do not want to be nickel and dimed by Microsoft and Sony for online features I get for free on PC and Wii U. I may get a PS4 down the line, but for now I will wait and see how things play out.
Not a bad deal at all. I actually already had Dead Space 1 & 2, but I never got around to picking up the third one. Now that I own the trilogy, I'm starting from the beginning and going through the series back to back. Fun times.
Very well said.
Why do you have four? I imagine you are crossfiring them, but do you have two gaming rigs, or did you upgrade from the 660 to the 7970? You want to sell me one of those 660's?
Looks amazing but I will never get one. At $99 I would rather use a basic keyboard, and spend the extra money on games. Still, if I ever saw one of these on sale for a reasonable price I would buy it in an instant and achieve a nerdgasm.
True gamers are platform agnostic. It's all about the games. I am excited for every single next gen system and handheld.
I have an intermediate understanding of computer tech at best, so with respect, would one of you tech guru's out there help me understand this statement.
"We have no downsides to dynamic lights, where right now we have to approximate them but you can also have the full glory of the completely baked world view."
What does he mean specifically when he says fully baked world view?
I am still a nerd in training, thank you.
Don't be dense. The price difference goes way beyond $50 if you want to play online, and I think most people want that option. How long do you plan on owning a PS4? IF you buy it at launch I am guess 5-7 years. $50 dollars a year and you are paying an extra $250-350. If you do not want to play online then yes the PS4 will have more 3rd party games and a small price difference along with your better graphics. The problem still is exclusives though. You want Zelda, Mario, Animal Crossing, D...
Nintendo's stock is the highest it's been since 2011, so I think your comment is valid. The stock has gone up nearly seven dollars a share in about one year.
People are buying into all of the doom and gloom articles being written daily and are ignoring the fact that Nintendo's financials are slowly making a comeback, mostly due to the overwhelming success of the 3DS and Animal Crossing.
Agreed. I started the game only recently and I am having a great time with it. I wish nothing but the best for Runic Games. Keep making great games and I'll keep buying them.
You do realize that Nintendo just dropped the price of Wii U by $50 on 9/20 don't you?
