WiiU will turn around, whether they like it or not.
In the meantime, Nintendo could do a lot of things differently, even after all the progress they've made. They've been a bit careless.
There's a lot of factors as to why WiiU is where it's at, most of those reasons rest on Nintendo's shoulders.

Actually Nintendo claimed MP3 to be "THE GREATEST FIRST PERSON EXPERIENCE EVER!!!" And no-one really took it seriously.
In terms of an individual offline experience, I partly agree. On a purely action oriented perspective, gameplay and control is still advanced. The visuals closely resemble a game on 360.

I would recommend W101, Zombiu, Pikmin3, scribblenauts, MonHunt3, and DKC.
Activision did a fabulous job on COD too. They renewed my faith in the franchise on WiiU even though it isn't selling.
You could look into some of the Wii games you might've missed, like Red Steel 2, Zack and Wiki, Xenoblade, MetPrime3... you shouldn't miss any of those games. metacritic has a decent list.
There's a sh!t ton of good games on Wii if ...
