Reminded me a lot of Gangs of New York too. Great movie. I actually see a lot of promise in this game (I won't be pre ordering still) and yes it does seem to me Ubisoft do have something to prove after Unity's faults... It was nice in their reveal that they were humble enough to acknowledge it's problems. Hopefully Syndicate will be a great game but I will be waiting till launch before buying it, sorry Ubisoft.

This is pre alpha, give it a chance. It's using the same Illumination technology in Unity so I think it will look just as good by release and they seem to be lowering the NPC count a bit to so that should give them more room to put resources on other things like maybe a solid framerate.
I thought Edward Kenway was the most interesting character so far, it was refreshing to play as a character who's motives weren't (initially) righteous or virtuous but more interested in wealth and power, makes the character a bit more three dimensional.
You started out as a character who just wanted to make a fortune so he could live a good life. Then he got caught up in a all this Assassin, Templar business, unearthly technology etc. but what made AC4 one of the bes...

Well I'm sure you know more about what's going on behind the scenes more than any of us. If the game was gonna spend 95% of it's time in 900p why would they bother adding dynamic scaling between 1080p and 900p... I mean that is time well spent. Sense made.
Yes they did, I would much prefer the resolution taking a hit to the framerate (especially since it's limited to 30 fps) but I'm getting the PS4 version so here's hoping its performance is solid throughout the whole game. I trust the developers have used the machine to the best of their abilities...
Great job getting this out there so we can this debate to bed. Looks great, lets move on...
Tomb Raider will not come over to the PS4 just like Street Fighter will not come over to Xbox One. I'd put money on it, smaller games like Indies and arcade titles are a different story but big AAA titles that cost lots of money to develop and then advertise are a whole other ball game. You can't seriously expect MS to fund and advertise this game then let it go to the competition a year later. It's just not happening...

"Polygons per car are up from Forza 3's 400,000 to over one million polygons per car in Forza 4."
Your completely right, if polygons were all that mattered then Forza 4 must look better than both these games... right. Driveclub looks better t...
Okay then thanks for clearing that up... seeings as it doesn't tell you the progress of the whole download I was led to believe that was the whole download and the game was originally compressed then extracted upon finishing the download. Like an Install file on PC.
While downloading tomb raider for my ps4 it said (in the notifications tab) it was only 5gb in size but when browsing in the store or managing storage it shows the game takes 20gb of space. Why is this? if the game isn't compressed and then extracted once downloaded?
I wasn't saying physical installs were compressed, was referring to downloading a game from PSN.
It's actually because PSN compresses the file size of the downloadable file then installs the game after downloading it, Xbox One installs the game at the same time as it downloads the game, so the download file size doesn't get compressed, that's why it takes so long... MS should really get this updated. Get with the times MS.
I dunno but this is just specifically comparing the weather effects not the overall graphics, I've got DC on my PS4 and have played Project Cars on PC... DC still looks better to me. I still think Project Cars looks really good but not as good as DC.
I don't know why either, seemed pretty cut and dry to me the order of how good the weather effects looked... guess people are just showing their usual insecurities.
I think Driveclub>Forza Horizon 2>Project Cars, Driveclub easily takes top and Horizon takes second based on the use of reflections in the water on the road which isn't very good in Project Cars but the game is shooting for higher framrate so.... something has to give way.
In my experience, people who have a lot money to spend don't value it as much as people who have less... so Season Passes aren't going anywhere cause people will keep buying it. I agree with the article, DLC is great especially after you've played and beaten the game and you want more but a Season Pass is just committing to buying content that's not gonna be released months after the release of the game. It's a rip off... there just squeezing us for every penny.
To be fair it is very difficult to emulate 360 and PS3 games on x86 architecture. That's why Sony made a streaming service and MS rumored to be bringing something similar later on...
I know right plus the rights to the franchise were scooped up after the release by EA and already have plans for a sequel that is early in development which will likely include a PS4 version, which will mean even more sales... hardly a "sad fate".

Shipped, sold to consumer... It's the same thing to MS and Sony. There is no concrete, accurate way to gauge sold to customer. Pretend Sony don't make there numbers look better than they actually are... just like any company ever. They sold SOE to make there losses looks better, and they've been sued over marketing issues before...

Ye people who think the Xbox One is sitting 12m make me laugh. When considering November and December NPD showed Xb1 sold at least 3m in North America alone, that's excluding the rest of the world who also celebrate the holidays. So if they announced 10m in October, sold really well over the holiday season and then you take into account the last 4 months the Xbox One is easily sitting at 15-16 million sold. MS ann...

I guess you right, that what if would always be eating away at you. That's why the prospect that they are now cutting off last generation excites me for future games.
