i think phil is drinking out of the same bottle that ken kutaragi and shane kim are drinking out of.
multi-player games only are easy cash cows for devs. but i don't believe this model will work. i love the great stories you see in single-player games: ratchet, jak, KZ, ME, bioshock,MGS, resistance, uncharted, RE...etc.(these are just examples,i know i'm leaving many greats out.)without them, i (along with many) wouldn't buy multi-player only games.
first, ms and gamespot with NG2. now, we have the splinter cell dev team and ubisoft coming out in seperate stories trying to keep SC:C looking like everything is fine. i wonder.... when conviction is eventually released; will there be multiple review discs and letters written to reviewers by ms/ubisoft?
or assasins creed. both games needed some work.
i'm putting that phrase in my "keepin it real" dictionary. bubbles for you!
i hear ya bro!
GTA reallly a disappointment. when i first saw the city i was impressed. but the game is dry and boring. controls suck and missions get repetitive fast. and what does rockstar want us to do with all our money in the game? we can't buy houses or businesses any more? also, who thinks the radio soundtrack is half as good as the awesome vice city radio? this series might want to be put out to pasture. thank god MGS4 is hitting soon.
why then don't you apply this to your opinions of every sony game? you never wait for the "finished game". you make criticisms of the earliest of code for ps3 games but are telling us we need to wait for the finished version of NG2? you only are wanting to apply your explanation to flaws in ms games. so, what you're saying doesn't ring true. when you start applying what you posted to all games, then i'll listen to what you're saying.
lair (or any other game) has nothing to do with this situation. and if you like the game more than reviewers isn't the question. the question is whether reviews should be conducted in this way. i don't believe so because i think this hurts the credibility of the review process. game companies have millions riding on these games. it's their responsibility to make sure the right code is sent. what ms is saying sounds like damage control.
many, many times in mags i've read they delayed giving a review because they haven't received the FINAL CODE. come on, if you were a dev and millions of $$$ were riding on a game: would you hand out unfinished code for final review?
oh, so microsoft wants gamespot to ignore the review disc they got and that the reeeeeeally super duper, ultra, deluxe review disc will be sent soon. and that's the disc ms wants a review based on?
so? does this start a trend for 360 games? send a disc to be reviewed. and if it has flaws; send out letters to reviewers saying they didn't review the RIGHT disc and that new discs will be sent out for a re-review?
come on, this sounds retarded and corrupt.(how much mo...
i still don't know why this game is being billed as one of sonys "high profile games"? i never thought of it in that way. regardless, after all of FR crowing about how great this game would be and the delays of its' release: this game layed a giant turd of letdown. i only played the demo, but was shocked at how average it looked/played. and put it up against MGS, KZ, gears, bioshock.... well, it can't compete. FR should have never billed this game as "amazing". because it ...
so it's hard to use your opinion. i own a ps3 but if a game comes out that i think is a let-down, i'll say just that.(haze was a big disappointment after all the big talk from FR) i didn't think LP was a very good game.(on either system.)
capcom should be working on "dead rising 2". if they could add some new gameplay to the great 1st game, it would be kick @SS.
shooting was fun but it was way too repetitive.
why would they dump them? rare has underperformed since being bought for 375 million and ms still holds onto that company. too human doesn't interest me but it should be given a chance to succeed. and talk like this article(sounds like damage control before game is even out)doesn't exactly create positive buzz before its' launch.
if 360 fans want to talk about a game that has issues (framerate, loading, camera, and graphics);they should be talking about NG2. boy, does that have some problems. these early screens look good and will surely be refined before release. and i'm curious about the "new content" for the game. hopefully there are some new areas to explore?
poor, poor, poor sad and angry 360 fanboys. just eats at you to lose this as an exclusive? anyway, it's a great game( i played on pc; not the lesser 360 version) that i might get if new content added makes it interesting enough. and as far as ps3 experiences: ratchet, uncharted, resistance offer equally great experiences (with much more interesting endings). and there are games (like MGS4,KZ2,GOW3, FF games) that i'm looking forward to much more than this. and cheboury, remind me again, besides...
everything positive he said seemed like a back-handed complement. oh well, it's his loss- not ours.
it's sad this guy is condsidered a reviewer considering his negative bias towards the game in particular and the series in general.(no reviewer should be allowed to review a game from a series that they have such contempt for to begin with) the 8 score isn't bad(especially coming from this guy)but he reviewed this game from an opinion he had BEFORE he started the game. so, i don't think anyone can take much from this "review" except this guy doesn't like MGS and it pains him to giv...
