very good point.
i've been wondering for a long time about how long N4G is going to be in a beta. i see i'm not the only one who noticed!
thank all that's good those commercials are dead. they were unfunny and painful to watch. i didn't think they could make one worse than the first....but the second one proved me wrong. 300 million sure doesn't buy much anymore.
i like the look of the game, but i haven't played it yet. what concerns me is all the delays. usually if one system gives a dev trouble, they can still get it out for another console or the pc. but this game has been delayed; and delayed; and delayed for all possible formats. that usually spells trouble.
from the article-
"We made a lot of changes to the engine, so each platform reacts to those changes differently. There’s a lot to follow up and that kind of stuff, trying to make it work right on all the different platforms.”
gearbox is saying that the ps3 was giving them trouble because they have never worked on a playstation 1,2 or 3. . they didn't have experience with any sony hardware. NOWHERE DO THEY SAY THE PS3 IS HARD TO WORK WITH. as long as games are good,...
While the changes and tweaks made to the existing technology from Epic Games complicated matters, it was the PS3 version that gave Gearbox the most trouble. They had no experience on PlayStation hardware.
“In previous ‘Brothers in Arms,’ we had farmed out the PlayStation versions to other developers who were PlayStation experts,” he said. “So we had to build up all that expertise in-house to understand that platform. There’s just major hardware differences; you don’t know if yo...
i'd love to have been at the meeting where a lawyer explains to these people how they can win this lawsuit. what nonsense.
i wouldn't agree that the tom clancy game has the same hype/anticipation as gears2 or resistance2. mentioning LBP with these games (as far as hype/anticipation) would have made more sense.
but yea, gears2 and resistance2 anticipation is off the charts. but i don't think we have seen anything yet. wait until KZ2 and GOW3 get close to release.
go out and interview 1 million people. ask them to tell you what bit torrent is and how to use it. very few will know what it is and less will know how to use it.
discs aren't going anywhere.
that door swings both ways. many people copy and sell movies on discs.
the point is that most people want movies on disc....not on hdd.
i'd agree with that. as long as the blu drive, usb ports, and hdmi connection is there. i was thinking the same thing. it wouldn't even matter if ps3 would "boot up", would it? buy the ps3, and whatever size hard drive you want......then install the drive and turn the system on! i wish this was the way it was in the beginning, because i would have had a 320 gig hdd from the start. still, i've had the 60 gig since dec. '06 and still have 34 gigs...... so no complaints yet.
from ign "For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360...
id/carmack has never said that. please don't make stuff up....or show a link.
you have never seen 3 MGS games in development at once! and this article says there are more than 4 halos in development right now. and that sounds like ms is milking the franchise.
also, i could care less about halo. never saw the big deal with the series. this isn't about "fanboy attacks". this is about the possible over-saturation of a series.(which is what ms seems to be doing.)
you have some serious sony hate in you.
but you have to face it; they're milking the halo franchise...big time.
that game looked soooooooo sweet! maybe they'll bring it back at another time.
with all the problems EA has had with games, why would anyone care what PM has to say.
this is MS saying it'll be out by christmas.(the same MS who said it would be out by autumn a month ago)and i guess RS hasn't heard the news cause they ain't saying anything.
other than that; nothing new here is said except that the dlc is "highly anticipated". with all the great NEW games coming out....who is highly anticipating this?
i wonder if he would agree to the same contest with sony as far as "first-party developed games"? i doubt it.
and no, microsoft....you don't win either challenge(published or developed).
they better not mess with this game by "forcing" multi-player into it. GOW3 is too imp. to ps gamers.
it might work; but, i don't really see how MP would fit into the game.
anybody have some thoughts how it might work?
