How powerful will it be? I don't know for sure, but it definitely won't be "4K", except for maybe a 4K disc drive.
They'll probably have to run with NEO or something, because Ps4k will confuse some people on the graphic quality.

Totally different. The X1 has been getting trashed in sales all generation long. They gotta do something to boost sales and remain competitive with PS4 worldwide.
Ps4 has no reason to do this except to take more of their fans money.
Microsoft does this, N4G wants to burn the X1 down to ashes for "lying to the consumer" and being "dishonest".
Sony does this, "oh yeah, that makes sense, Sony is so smart".
No matter how you spin it, PS4 is now "the base model", and everyone that bought one will have to know their console is now inferior until they upgrade.

Did you say "cheap" RAM, as in the DDR3? You lost all credibility right there. DDR4 is "better", but it's negligible. And DDR3 is still considered a high performance RAM. As in, still used in current PC builds that game in 4K.
If you had two PS4's, one with DDR3 and one with DDR4, no performance test would ever reveal a difference.
What exactly is it about GDDR5 would prevent previous games from playing??? You do realize ...
I tried to play it, I just couldn't get in to it... The game tried too hard. And it reminded me way too much of Crazy Taxi.

I just don't get the whole "slim" console thing. I just don't see why people care. I suppose I could understand if you need to put your console on a desk in your bedroom or something, but my "huge" X1 looks tiny underneath my 55" TV, and goes great with my entertainment center.

Have you actually read the metacritic reviews? I finally did, and boy what a joke. I was willing to accept the game was medicocre and that 77 was the final grade.
BUT, after reading reviews, there are DOZENS of FAKE fanboy 0's. Tons of them! Take a look for yourself. Those fake, non-deserving 0's, are severely hurting the score.
Why? So ps4 fanboys can have some sort of sick laugh about hurting an X1 franchise?

A beefy PC with a GTX970, which is SEVERAL times (5-6x) more powerful than PS4 is the MINIMUM spec for DECENT graphics wih Oculus.
Hence, the reason Sony is already developing a more powerful machine, probably to make PSVR even remotely playable.
