Says the guy who has a puts a capital letter on every word, hardly a positive advert for the level of intelligence of the average XBOX fanboy are you?
Yeah because most people buy them new!
Most of those either wouldn't work on Kinect or the control scheme would be a mangled mess that although they'd work you'd grab a controller pretty quickly.
Is that the sound of a barrel that I hear being scraped?
Also the fact that this article got approved is ridiculous.
This guy is responsible for Bratz the Game, The Biggest Loser and some Barbie game. That just about says it all really.
MrAnonymous
Yes it is.
Wait a moment... wasn't a minority report UI the big promise with Natal?
Most people in the UK have about 2-4m in front of the TV. Just because YOU have more space doesn't mean that everybody else does. Obviously you don't know what 'trolling' means.
I fucking hate the trend of bolting on multiplayer aspects to decent single payer game because somewhere along the line it became part of the checklist of what makes a "good" game. Can't developers just make a decent self contained single player experience without the need to pander to the spotty 14 year old wankers that mostly inhabit online multiplayer systems?
What about tactical feedback? How could say GT5, Half Life 2, Portal, Gears or GoW 3 cross over to such a device with no loss of functionality?
As I said; this is impressive tech, it's wasted on a games console.
Now this is cool and this demonstrates how wasted this tech is on a game console.
Bigpappy;
You've got it wrong the wrong way round mate; Kinect CAN'T do games that require controllers. For example the limited control scheme in Kinect Racing where all you can do is steer.
That's the point- the device's simple input method (gestures only) can't compete with a hybrid method like the Wii or Move that use a combination of both in varying degrees.
I disagree.
I'm thinking more along the lines of the practicality of playing games that require more complex interactions. I've still not seen anyone try to come up with a realistic was that an FPS game would work with Kinect for example.
Not having some form of tactile input device will limit the types of games you get on Kinect.
Microsoft own the Alan Wake IP, you're more likely to see bacon at a bar mitzvah than seeing Alan Wake on the PS3. It's a shame as it's quite a good game.
Basically Kinect is probably only going to have party and dance games and this is why people compare it to the Eye Toy because even though it may well be technologically advanced the net result is the same.
I bet a Kinect remote controller is released within 18 months and once it is the whole "you are the controller" selling point becomes null and void.
Works fine with me.
ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are also unable to charge for content that is intended for their public service channels (IE ITV1, Channel 4 and Five). If MS want to have their content on its platform it has to be free to view and MS being MS aren't going to be happy with that.
Ahh well, the joys of owning all the platforms! I must say that XBOX Gold subscribers are well and truly over a barrel and 99% of them wouldn't pay if online gaming was free.
Sounds to me like that website is making stuff up, tragic really.
Money grabbing? Heven forbid that Sony try to make money- the very cheek of it!
