I've played 4k but never battlefront 1 or 2. There's no 4k native content, so unless you're upscaling it there would be 0 difference and even then it would be minimal.
I've done what you said with games such as mirrors edge through mods and upscaling, there's no difference unless the content itself is 4k.

Agreed, picked up the extended edition for 8 bucks and it stopped working 3 days ago (after ~2 weeks), looking for my RTS fix D: can't get any support, nothing from their site works, I even fully reset my computer due to other errors and it still crashed right at launch today before it even got full screen

Yes, and that need for touch is something that could be a fickle obstacle on the path to true immersion. I love speculating on how they could achieve that too, there's so many possibilities. I'm thinking gloves, covered in scale like tiles that can tighten and loosen to reassemble surfaces and objects. It is so so so good, I was blown away. I know exactly what you mean too, it makes me want to buy an oculus rift just to immerse myself that much further into the game.
It doesn't benefit us, only individual "factions". If the game turns out bad then the ones who get it later use that negativity to throw gas on the flame that is the console wars. If it's buggy, then only the initial buyers suffer and those who receive the game later get a more polished final product. There's a new one in development, they're giving it the next gen treatment with mo-capped crowds from what I heard. It's a shame the series was so run down after a while but I'm glad they gave it a break.
