PSP sales are only going to get better. GT:mobile and FF7;CC is going to be the main system drivers for japan... they might just get close to the 100k per week mark for awhile, but they'll never catch the DS.
BTW: i forgot about FF:tatics for the PSP will also be a japanese system seller (is that out in japan yet?)
well.. look at the nintendo Wii... it's cheap as heck compared to the rest and it has less games worth playing than the PS3 at this moment. So price may be the determining factor. 600 dollars was just too much for a console period (to the mass). Even if the PS3 had all the xbox360 games it would still be losing to the wii in terms of hardware sales (ps3+360 sales are still not enough to overcome Wii sales ina weekly basis). Thats just how important price is.
last i checked, every system that ended up not selling atleast decent in japan...died out. So success in Japan is "make or break". If japan were not important, then ms would have already quit and focused 100% on the US market...but instead they continue to try to salvage some success in Japan, which is the correct decision for Microsoft. Abandoning or neglecting the japanese market is pure suicide, and that's not what MS is doing this time around.
I dunno what this is all about but i was very impressed, the idea is great, the game looks good and this is an early build. It's not the first time i've seen technical glitches on early build and it sure as heck wont be the last.
The PS3 doesn't render graphics soley on their graphics card. It syncs with the cell processor to render images. So you can't soley base the graphics power of each system on their repective GPU. Other than that the 1st generation games of the PS3 does look better than the 360's first gen, so saying the 360 will always exceed the ps3's ability to render graphics is yet to be proven. Atleast wait for some more games that had the PS3 as the lead SKU before you crown a system the king of graphics...

MetalGear doesn't do quite as well as Halo in sales (but halo will be over with), FinalFantasy does around the same in sales (or more), and Gran Turismo sales have swallowed up Halo sales in the past (i dont even think Halo1+2 has past GT3 alone). I already have this controller, but i remember friends telling me it was out of stock and how no one seem to have it for sale. It seems splitfish made a great business decision in restocking the online retailers right when the PS3 gets price cuts.

This one didn't make any sense to me either. MotorStorm + 20 extra gigs is not worth 100 dollars. The pricing for 20 gigs is dirt cheap right now.... i actually have 5 ways to make this deal worth it or much sweeter.
1. Add HDMI cord
2. Add some sort of coupon for any 2(or more) bluray movies free
3. Add bluetooth head set along with another controller
4. have a (or 2) rumble six axis controller.

Amazon.com has that PS3 for 499 that includes the bluray remote and extra Bluray movie along with the 5 mail in Bluray movies. That is sure to draw a spike, this is a move to try and counter that. What they sould have done was reduce the 360 hddvd add-on also. But it's not good for toshiba to do this, since all of the other HD-DVD manufacturers have to drop their price inorder to keep their players in the same catagory as toshiba's.
