For DLC that is just stupid, but we've been getting ripped off with our games for years! I'll get it from the US store if I can.
oops double post
Sound cool. It's been kind of lost in the Killzone, COD, Halo, GOW type games.
Nothing wrong with a bit of escape. It can help keep me from getting depressed! But yeah, I guess if it is too much doing it, there might be issues.
Hope U R all OK too
"Are you okay?" is a good cause and this article raises awareness for it. I also have a better understanding now of why some depressed people play games after reading this article.
@ Takoulya
It is rare to get enough content that isn't just fetch this, do that (in other words significant enough). If those affect the major quest too much, the story gets bogged down.
If there is a consequence for not doing them (ie. future missions are too hard without X or Y) then the main story experience is less enjoyable.
However, in some games like Oblivion the main quest wasn't even as enjoyable as the faction missions! <...
it really depends on story. There should always be some degree of choice of where to go right, left, up etc., but if you have a shell of a narrative like say COD that doesn't flow and is disjointed, then yes the linearity isn't that great.
I personally don't mind linearity and lack of choice in story-driven games.
Where there is choice, I agree that consequences shouldn't be 'temporary' but there should be the ability to save often still. I guess it is the player's choice if they want to go back to an earlier save and try again.
Totally modern warfared out!
Let's hope they are taking single player more serously.
@ Jazluminati
Not sure I understand you? Do you mean that the fact that COD traditionally has better single player mean it will never be better, or that it has more console titles?
I like single player and care less for multi, so it does sway me somewhat.
While I totally agree with you that sales do not equal quality, you can see that EA is trying to steal some of the COD crowd with an allegedly better product.
In the marketing war, sales figures will be used to imply 'who is better' or 'who is the king'.
Before COD, Medal of Honor was king. So public perception can change if something is considered 'more cool'.
I'm interested to see if Battlefield 3 will be such a...
Rez did okay, so its sad this one didn't
The crucial thing for Nintendo to get right this time is have everything working at launch (and having lots of games for launch). No adding the internet browser a couple of days after release as this mentality of get it on to the market while it is incomplete doesn't work for me.
If the Wii U is released while it is incomplete then I will question Nintendo's ability to learn from mistakes.
Always good to find ways to recycle Half Life with new creative mods! I just wish consoles could have the same sort of user generated content!!
Yeah I feel the same way, even though the graphics were superior in 2.
I find many sequels just try to milk the success of the original and don't actually get better these days.
Some look better but don't play better.
Although Fable 1 is the original (but it was on Xbox 1, so I get it)
It seems more geared toward a certain PC crowd, whereas I like events that are geared toward gaming in general, especially consoles and many different publishers.
I wonder what the difference in $ the Playstation Plus is in US and Oz? What do you pay for how long?
Also last I checked RE 4 wasn't even on our store yet!
