It's kind of nice it's not in Sydney though. Sydney and Melbourne tend to get more events than Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.
It's the first E3 like thing we've had here EVER. The big difference (besides the big announcements were already made) is that the public can go, not just press.

I really wanted the 3DS to be something more than just a console for existing franchises and with the Resident Evil game I was thinking it might be.
But no...nothing came and nothing new was announced.
I'll also be waiting and seeing about the PS Vita. Early adopters are rarely rewarded these days!
I wouldn't say the Wii was largely ignored. It sold really really well, but gamers were disappointed with a lack of 'core' games and it is now not selling well.
Hopefully they just get some more good 3rd party games out there.

Nintendo itself warns not to play it longer than 20 mins and for kids not to play it at all...
