Yeah I was a huge fan of Resident Evil 4 because it WAS more action oriented. Resident Evil 5 was good, but did feel a bit like it had moved away from that 'survival horror' feel.
Seems like a crowded market to me, but it has the Neverwinter name.
Interesting read. I find a few things sad:
This: “Out of Top 20 games sold last year, only one was a new IP”
and the fact that so many publishers go by Metacritic to see what to do next.
This game really looks like it is shaping up....I just hope it isn't too biased toward the revolutionaries
I'm more of a NHL man myself. Even if my team Vancouver Canucks choked again in the playoffs...
There's just soooo many fantasy RPGs lately. How do you decide which one to get besides Skyrim and its DLC?
Anything that actually recreates that beep beep beep beep fear the movie did, would be awesome! Portable turrets please!
I sooo miss Timesplitters. But an online only version like Crytek seems to be hinting at, wouldn't be what I want.
Pft.
So sending a PS3 only owner to an MS show is the sign of a 360 biased site?
The review wasn't even flattering to MS? What are you on?

Star Wars 1313 is also rumoured to be 'next gen'
Do you really think that the next gen will not copy this gen though?
I think everything can be accused of some plagiarism. Look at the guy suing Ubisoft for stealing the Assassin's Creed idea...
There are a few games like The Journey that are pretty original, but these tend to be niche or smaller titles.
A big AAA title requires a lot of money, and there is no point in re-inventing the wheel, when you know you just need to advance some areas.
This is indeed evolution. One games copies somethng from here and there and then mixes it: if it works it survives, if it doesn't it is tossed by the next dev.
Survival of the fittest.
Yeah even video coverage never gives you the little stories of what it is like: just that it is noisy and chaotic with lots of lights!
"My trip back to the hotel along 7th Street is shared with a homeless man singing “Gon’ get me some crack. Get me some crack. Get me some crack. Get me some crack…” repeatedly for about 4 blocks. Ke$ha’s latest tune, I guess.
We’re off to a great start, Los Angeles!"
Classic. Yup, what I'd expect from LA.
I can't say I've ever wanted these games, but I do like the fact that they look so different.
I am getting a bit tired of realistic shooters. Wouldn't Timesplitters look awesome with this art style? Crytek you listening?
Not sure I agree with some, but doing a poll is a good idea so we can choose.
Still not really sold on the whole Last of Us plot. I know it will be an amazing game, but the whole 'man and girl make their way through fungus-zombie post-apocalyptic wasteland' is kind of 'meh'. I am Alive seemed to do a similar story.
But it does look fantastic.
It's a great way to get people to play your game and will probably eventually make its way there.
Isn't Crytek talking about only have F2P games in the future?
I'm glad to see some stars can really actually play games and not just say they do!
He's Nathan Drake! If they make an Uncharted movie it has to be him! He's a genuine gamer AND he looks and sounds like him.
It's obvious.
Hmmm when is there going to be a Kinect version I wonder.
The Wii U needs more games like this and rely less on Mario and co.
But the games do need to look good to convince anyone this is worth an investment, with PS4 and 720 on the way.
Excellent summary. Bubbles.
It looks like Lost Planet.
But then I don't mind a bit of action, it's just that too much and it becomes generic.
