The worst thing that could happen to the PS3 is for Microsoft to make XBL free. Xbox 360 sales in Europe in particular would asplode, and the xbox would start to pull away from the PS3 again, because as of right now, the XBL fee does in fact make the xbox 360 quite a bit more expensive than the PS3.
I mean if you look at the costs of the consoles over three years, the xbox is like a $600 dollar console, and the PS3 only costs 1/3 of the xbox and it only manages to sell a tin...
@lvl_up_gamer,
The retailers are not buying consoles that do not sell. Shipped numbers are consoles sold, by Microsoft or Sony to retailers, Walmart, Best Buy and Amazon.
If Sony shipped an errant 50k consoles to Walmart that they did not want, I assure you that Walmart would refuse the shipment.
VGChartz has never detailed how they come up with their numberz. They have indicated that they call retailers and simply ask them, but retailers g...
Yeah... We all moved onto streaming everything, and just skipped the blu-ray non-revolution.
Oh and Blu-ray never got a single movie exclusive. Not even a one.
On the other hand, we get streamed exclusives every week over here on Xbox Live.
And Blu-ray, while it eventually found a nitch, is still just a bit player in the video industry.
I said it way back in 2007 on Digg, and my prediction turned out to be true. Blu-ray ...
Im two weeks in on my WiiU. I still use the xbox for tv watching. The WiiU is always knocking my computer off the internet for some reason. Although I am sure this will be fixed sooner or later.
Second Screen... game play. Um, not so much, but then I have plenty of TV's and streaming devices around my house, between my xbox, laptop and Razr phone.
Motion Gaming... Well now that Dance Central 3 has Gangam Style, once again the Kinect wins out over th...
I can always tell when people haven't played ZombiU...
Basically, I thought he gave it high marks. No other game has the kind of clipping errors this game has that is getting ~any~ media attention.
I would say... Think Launch title with zombies in it. That is all this game is...
Wait until January and buy it used... For cheap.
Blu-ray has suffered a total recall? Hrm, I always figured such a technology would be inherently safe.
I think the main reason for the poor reviews has nothing to do with that. I think the main reason for poor reviews is that we have become accustomed to a certain level of finish and polish in games, and this game has none of that.
It is really gonna blow your mind when the 360 labors on getting cross platform games from the Wii U and lives on to 2017, if not longer, while the PS3 heads into retirement, and the realization that the 360 was the future proof design and not the PS3.
That is really gonna blow peoples mind.
Ok, so we have the Wii U and we have our old wii controllers set up, and we are going through the pack in games to try some of the multi player games out... And the first two we try both require the Wii Motion plus...
I suspect as cross platform games come out for the Wii U, they will use the second screen capability of the xbox 360 and the ps vita as well.
This of course also means that the xbox 360 will be supported for the next five years as long as there...
If you align for launch date, the PS3 is now in fourth place...
If you align sales to the launch date, the PS3 is now in fourth place, behind the Wii, WiiU, and Xbox 360.
Most of the Wii U's will eventually be returned because of piss poor experience.
Multiple hours in now simply trying to get the piece of shite to connect to the internet and update, on a wifi network that had worked flawlessly on every other single device out there from iPhones to Android phones and X-Box 360's to iMac's.
Just saying... If this expereince is typical, the Wii U is DOA.
Just about ready to box mine up and take it b...
After fussing around with the Wii U wifi setup for about two hours (on a brand new wifi cable modem) only to find myself waiting for a multi-hour system update, expect to see a lot of refurb Wii U's in stores next year.
If I have one more hitch with this thing, it is going back in the box, and back to the store for a refund.
Xbox live is totally worth it for the Bing search, and directory of tv shows and movies, on the various tv and movie services. That feature is totally missing from every other option including your Windows or Mac PC.
It is utterly unique in the industry.
Sony's current market cap is just under 12 billion dollars. (Source: Finance.bing.com SNEJF) But that doesn't tell the whole story, you have to figure in their debt as well. Currently Sony has about 8 billion in debt, that if you were to buy Sony and close it down, you would have to pay off.
So the free market has placed a value of Sony with all its assets and debts accounted for at only about ~4 billion dollars.
For comparison, Microsoft is worth a...
And you would be wrong... The very next possible moment that Microsoft would release a new XBox is January or February for release next fall. Which is more than a year... But anyhow, the next gen wont start until 2015, and this has been known for some time now...
Basically you know this is awesome because every Apple and Sony fantroll has been saying that Smart Glass would be windows phone only, right up to this mornings announcement, and yet it isn't. And at the same time it goes way beyond what Nintendo, Sony, or Apple have done with it, offering the first seamless experience for Web browsing, Gaming, Movies, and Music.
Biggest,
So you will admit that you are just a PS3 troll when this works on the iPhone and Android phones as well...
Right?
Why wouldn't you just watch this on your xbox???
I say neXBox September 2015. I can think of a couple of things that Microsoft could do to keep its sales above 12 million units a year for the next three years... If not well into 2017-2018 time frames...
Xbox 360 SSD edition, radically improved load times for apps.
Xbox ultra slim + Blu-ray, although I continue to be a Blu-ray skeptic.
Then one of two possibilities...
Free Xbox with 2 year XBL commitment.
