Mario titles? You mean like the 2 most recent ones that were both the critically highest rated games this gen? yeh me to, can't wait.
I admit, I have not been involved in the process of porting a game from one mobile platform to another. But since you are clearly an expert on the matter, I am curious...how much coding required? How much difference is there between the iOS development kit and the PSV development kit? Are there any remodelling or texturing requirements?
From my limited understanding, just because the new iPad has 2 cpu cores and so does the vita - it does not mean that it is simply a 'cop...
Yes...the Vita's minimal install base does not currently justify the cost to port.
I agree.
I missed those but loved 2. Hopefully there was not to much of the overall story in those 2 games, or they do a good job at the beginning of 3 to fill everyone in. I actually like the overall story of Desmond and look forward the inevitable final game in which Desmond is the main assassin based in a modern city.
I still haven't got one for one reason - that ugly 2nd joystick attachment. This alone has made me want to wait for the next revision to see if it is built in. Even if the next version comes out without it, and hardly any games require/support it - ill buy one.
@CommonSenseGamer
lol
Well said.
I actually think this game will work well on a tablet.
hahaha - man i've read some crap on this site but this takes the cake. Its sad what this site has become and you personify all that is wrong with it.
I love Sony products, but the calibre of fans they seem to attract is starting to turn me off the brand.
I don't think that Japanese game development has declined as much as people think - its just that Western (particularly US) development has greatly improved.
I think a big part of this has to do with the move towards story driven games. Let be honest, the US makes the best movies/TV shows. It makes sense that as games become more like interactive movies, games developed in that region are going to excel.
I know those crazy RPG's from Japan during the...
hilarious.
CaCl does not read the article and interprets the heading to be some sort of console comparison - and due to the pathetic amount of Sony bias around here he STILL manages 26 agrees.
You are all moronic.
Don't bother -jump straight to 3. I like old school RPG's and all, but I could really get into Persona 1. 3 is where the series starts to become awesome.
I think I remember it being Disney (not square) that is responsible for KH's absence. Apparently they don't allow games with their IP to be available digitally :(
As a sucker who purchased a PSP GO, this is a wound that has never stopped stinging and also a reason I will be waiting sometime to purchase a Vita i.e. when its a successful console with a vast library of games.
And about a third of the decent games.
say it was a failure is a bit much, but it certainly lacked support.
BRING on the disagrees!, Regardless what you blind fanboys believe, the PSP had less quality software than ANY other gaming device that I have owned. The amount of times I would go to the shop and not find 1 game that I was interested in purchasing occurred a LOT more than with any other console. Thats not to say it did have good games, the quality games that did release for it for as good as any, but it did...
Ive yet to see a game released (or even announced?) that supports cross platform play. This add made it look like he was playing a game on PS3, the switched over to the Vita in exactly the same game.
Interesting to centre a campaign on a feature that doesn't appear to be properly supported yet.
Given the battery life of the Vita, I really can't see myself using this thing as a truely portable device. Meaning most times I would play it would be at home, a friends or at work - all of which would have wifi (and a power point close by!)
I have also not seen any feature that makes me want the 3G model. I'm certain that social networking and web browsing would be inferior on the Vita than on my iPhone (which is ALWAYS in my pocket) - these are the only 2 features ...
@Ck1x
You say that MGS hasn't been a system selling franchise, and then go on to list a bunch of non-exclusive titles that are available on a number of platforms. These games don't move systems, they move themselves in any form that suits the purchaser.
If you'd have mentioned Gears of War, Halo or Uncharted I'd ALMOST agree with you, but then I'd look at the sales data of MGS4, which sold over 4Mil in its first few months. I'd then re...
I still fail to see the need for the 3G version when everyone has a smartphone with a wifi hotspot.
Stupid article.
I play games on my iPhone. I find it funny how everyone says that the iPhone only has shallow, casual games like Angry Birds. Looking through the games i currently have 80% of them would be considered core games - Chrono Trigger, Chaos Rings, Dead Space, Real Racing 2, Modern Combat 3 etc.
I'm mean, GTA 3 just got a HD remake for it! And it costs $5.00!!
Would I prefer to play games on a Vita or 3DS - of course. But to s...
Remote playing PS3 games was a major factor in my potentially purchasing a vita. However, I just can't see this functionality ever living up to potential.
Whilst I don't know how it works, I'm certain that Sony and 3rd party devs would have some pretty strict agreements regarding how the games get played, streamed etc. surely this would mean that there is never going to be a simple 'fix' to allow this functionality - as the issues are commercial, not tech...
I agree with Shok and Onilink - that was the biggest fail of a comment.
