Will be interesting to see 3rd party support shift towards Microsoft over the next few years because game sales are higher due to the stamping out of the used game market.

Short term win for Sony, with long term consequences. Plus I remember my Ps3 allowing me to play my Ps2 games initially - boom feature removed. I also had Linux installed - boom feature removed.

Its likely that Sony says this now, but when devs start to favour Xbox One - they will do a tr...

Also SQL, SharePoint, Office 365, Exchange, Windows Server. Microsoft has many many highly profitable billion dollar businesses.

Lol - Xbox keeping them afloat - your funny.

How many exclusives did Sony show at their reveal? I haven't been able to find a list. What were they?

@Forcefullpower

lol...and you DO know what you are talking about I see?

Microsoft, a company that is a thought leader in cloud computing, has incorporated the cloud into MANY of its other products and has built one of the most robust cloud computing platforms available (Windows Azure) - comes out and makes claims that its platform has been implemented into Xbox One and gives dev's access to it for computing resources - and your knowledge of cloud computin...

Agreed -I like Sony, but this site has turned me off them. I have never witnessed such a bunch of mis-informed, unintelligent kids in all my life.

Does anyone have a list of the announced PS4 exclusives? I don't seem to be able to find one?

100% disagree. Used games through the major gaming retailers has become a cancer on the gaming industry - they are the ones making big $$ on this practice. Not allowing them to make as big a profit margin by charging the gamer a small fee that goes back to the developer/publisher means that in order for it to be worth while for everybody, the retailer needs to shave off there profit margin, so that the customer still sees value in the discounted price and the dev's/pub's see some of t...

@ShwankyShpanky: What is your understanding of what Google got in trouble for? What personal data were they recording?

4637d ago 0 agree7 disagreeView comment

Agreed. Its funny watch all these Sony fan boys making tinfoil hats and spread FUD. I feel sorry for you all.

As if a company like Microsoft would use this camera and data to spy on people without being upfront about it. Why risk the massive fines/bad press that would result? They have many many businesses, not just xbox. they don't make there many from selling data/advertising.

You are all hilarious.

Meh - I hope that they do not allow used games. The people that really make money out of this is Gamestop, EB games or retailers. They will buy a game back for like $15 and resell for like $40.

I would much rather my money go to the developers/publishes so they make more high quality games. Why do I want to retailer that adds no value to the creation to the product make more money - money that should've gone to the companies that make the product?

The onl...

@OldSchoolGamer

Thanks for the response.

I don't quite buy into the aspects of the reveal you mention (ie Sony addressing issues and MS ignoring them) Sony ditching Cel would be a big talking point at a reveal like this - particularly when they talk about the specs of a new console (eg being x86 -a big change).MS were never going to discuss things like warranty extensions at a reveal like this.

However I do see your point around having is...

Sorry guys - none of you come close to convincing me that I missed something. Yes, Sony has some great games in the pipe - that's a given. Yes the graphics will be great (though not THAT much better then Xbox One - lets be honest). But to me those are expected features from a new gen of hardware.

Kinect 2.0, full TV integration and the insane, seamless multitasking abilities of the Xbox One are what has got my interest. Yes it is a games console, however I EXPECT it to h...

Sorry, not trolling here (promise)

Can you tell me what was so great about the PS4 reveal? I am generally interested - as I was disappointed in it - yet the sentiment on this site was SO overwhelmingly positive I MUST be missing something. Not that this site is any indicator of the success of a future product (the same sentiment was expressed for the PS Vita - and we all know how that turned out)

Yes they showed more of their exclusive game line up, and also ...

Yep - Xbox One for me.

I don't get the negativity, granted some of you might not have a need for an integrated media unit - but I sure do.

So far I don't see any advantages to Sony's console - just a spec bump. Granted Sony have some talented development studios and I am sure that there will be some great exclusive titles, but so will Microsoft. 13 exclusives in the first year, 8 of which are new IP's? That sounds pretty good to me given that ...

@BrianC6234

These ratings have nothing to do the value of each share. Junk status refers to a firm that has to offer bonds with high return to make up for the fact that there is a high likelihood of defaults.

#1's gotta be the PS3. No way a console can forfeit as much market share as the PS3 did compared to the PS2 and not be considered a fail

4956d ago 12 agree20 disagreeView comment

More likely because games are more expensive to produce this gen.

4991d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The only way Sony can achieve this is through innovation. If the PS4 is just a more powerful PS3 I can't see this happening. PLus I dont think they are in the financial postion to subsidise the cost a new console like they have in the past.

The way Nintendo achieved success with the Wii and DS, and the reason for Apples rise to dominance in multiple industries is through innovation. Unfortunately this has never been Sony's strong point.
