Look at past private division games. They don’t throw around the same money that they do with their in house devs. It’s not a matter if they “can afford it”. They have budgets
Obsidian came out and said they couldn’t support their whole vision. They wanted to do romances and make the world bigger, but there were time and money constraints
Here’s probably what’s happening here. Private division funds smaller more budget focused games. They didn’t bother to fund the enhancements for increased dev time. Microsoft stepped in and said we will cover X enhancements

Why does it matter who gets the story of the unveil?
“Adaptive haptic feedback” is just another buzzword Sony is using that is years late. “3D audio” is just atmos and “adaptive haptic feedback” is slightly upgraded rumble triggers.
So much innovation!!!!
Also this video of the unveiling shows that developers can adapt the amount of rumble in the triggers. He specifically says a bazooka will feel different than a sniper rifle and so forth.
Hopefully devs will. Microsoft’s rumble triggers are underused in current games.
Hopefully both Microsoft and Sony use similar tech so that devs will be forced to implement it due to the install base of both combined
I understand that. In some places it’s the only place to discount shop. I’m lucky to live in a place with other discounted grocery stores are abundant.
