Sweeeet. MK X... can't wait. Huge fan of 9.

Any chance for a create your own character/fatality system? That would be a lot of fun online... but I know it would be practically impossible to do it well.

I'm glad that we're all seeing through the BS... proud of N4G for standing up for Watch Dogs and the effort put forth.

moomoo mentions it below, the "cool" thing to do seems to be bashing WD unfortunately.

It is sad really, that click bait and flame bait takes priority above innovation within the gaming industry.

ErrorNotFound.org? I found the error! It's your garbage website.

Yeah, the author just strung together a bunch of large words to sound intelligent... I don't agree with almost every criticism in his review.

"This sort of dissonance is common for an ambitious open-world game, but Watch Dogs is clumsy in a specific way I’ve never seen before. Other games might struggle between player agency and static character work — would John Marston really shoot up this town for the hell of it, like I made him? Here’s the difference: you could p...

Well said. Haha. +1 for mid 90's mod reference.

Man, I remember going to computer shows (btw, thanks internet! computer shows sucked) and buying a stack of floppy disks that each had a different Doom II mod on them.

Hey forager,

From what I can gather - the "hate" is from a mixture of things as you read between the lines:

1. People's expectations were insanely high, to the point at which any game would be considered a let down

2. Those complaining about the repetition of the game don't realize that THEY are the limiting factor here. There's so much to do (as moomoo319 mentioned) that it's almost overwhelming... so, these people...

Agreed. They should have never even bothered w/ previous gen. It looks great on XBOne + PS4.

I'd offer an explanation as to why L.A. Noire looks better than Watch Dogs and even GTA... L.A. Noire wasn't a very dynamic game. There wasn't a ton that could or would happen in the environment. Explosions, water animations, bridges moving, massive car accidents, shootouts, etc... the fewer moving pieces, the better the eye candy.

Perfect example: Fight N...

Agreed beebap, "just no" indeed, I feel like Watch Dogs is getting some harsh reviews...

Partially for click bait (because it's actually working) and partially due to legitimate opinions. Some people don't like open world, non-linear games. My best comparison would be to that of religious fundamentalists/creationists who ignore progress; but, that's just how I make sense of myopic people who are scared of being creative.

I really like games where you can punch people in the face. Also, when you can kick them in the face is nice too.

Looking forward to the demo so I can punch some faces.

It would be very clean and everyone would be much more polite.

Also, the surveillance would consist only of your fellow countrymen's goodwill, so, not much for Watch Dogs in Canada.

Agreed... even GTA V couldn't keep me this entertained outside of the missions.

If they had slightly better vehicle physics and incorporated Natural Motion (like Rockstar did)... I don't know if I'd ever stop playing this for months.

Ubisoft wanted to leave for the sequel I suppose. Great game so far.

I wish that was the case. However, I think this is pure karma... haha, spontaneous combustion of a criminal.

On a related note, I hacked a traffic light last night and two cars hit so hard that they just blew up. Actually felt kind of bad. I'll stick to hacking bridges for fun.

Wait, what even happened? How did he blow up? Didn't look like the player even hacked anything.

Two things:

1. This is clearly a grasping at straws click-bait article

2. If these are the types of criticisms Watch Dogs is receiving, it's likely a Day 1 must-buy.

Well done!

Perhaps the video games Gods will be pleased with your work and allow for the FO4 announcement.

They are going to do a live meth cook on stage... then smoke it all and announce Breaking Bad: The Game.

Consider it leaked.

I think this is looking good. My biggest concern is their claim that everything is dynamic. From the enemies to the generals and each play through is different.

Anytime a game tried to do something like this in the past, it ends up feeling very "rinse and repeat". As the dynamic elements have historically only worked within strict confines of gameplay/story telling.

I hope that Monolith has a few tricks up their sleeves to make it actually feel uniq...

My money is on a full next-gen GTAV release including a PC version. Replay editor, enhanced GTA:Online, new modes, heists, casinos, etc...

But, a next gen RDR would be just as tempting in my opinion.

New IP? Maybe.

One thing is for sure: Rockstar + Next Gen = Take my money

Something tells me that Rockstar doesn't much care about what the general public is sensitive to.

Example reference: The entire GTA series
