Mixed reviews, PC and PS3 being given the finger. Think I'll pass, besides I've put in about 400 hours over 2 playthroughs, I think I'm done.
Atrocious journalism and publisher's putting shareholders before customer service.
I'm all for giving something a chance, but you also have to remember that everything has only one chance to make a first impression, this is where Ninja Theory screwed up.
By all accounts it's turning out ok, which is fine, but from that first impression it's got a fight on it's hands to convince the most stubborn out there.
Nice idea in theory, but it introduces a new and far wider barrier where the user has to train their brain to utilize a mind control device. Something which is a lot more difficult and time consuming than learning button mapping.
So let me get this straight, you want to sell to a broader userbase, by which you will target those that can't get their heads around a few buttons? So the non gamers then?
I would be impressed if you had mentioned catering for the physically impaired but no, you just want to think about the fickle, here one minute, gone the next, I'll play five minutes with the kids type of non gamer.
I'm all for motion controls, they have their place and are fun...
I'm sorry but it's all excuses. Yes, the hardware is there on PC, so use it if consoles aren't good enough(which is exactly what they are saying)so the console manufacturers have something to take notice of. Just remember, the console makers rely a lot more on the developers than the other way round. Developers have the power and so far nothings happening which makes me think that much of the complaining is PR bull.
Secondly it would be madness for a developer to ...
Yes it could, and as I've mentioned in the past the voice recognition libraries for PC and Playstation already exist (as part of the devkit with Playstation), so programming for the other platforms would require no more work than with Kinect and only require a mic at minimum.
I imagine this to be another occasion where Microsoft is paying for features to sell Kinect, by which I mean voice recognition would never be implemented at all otherwise on any platform. I'll be...
We may be due a new wave of consoles, but all this publisher bitching and moaning is getting tiresome. All their complaints are due to them having to innovate and take their time to polish. They want new consoles so they can make up for shortcomings with a few bells and whistles that would be easier.
Stop blaming your tools for lack of quality, there are plenty of instances this generation to prove that the hardware is capable.
Hope and pray that these words never get said regarding Mirror's Edge 2.
"We're looking to attract a broader audience"
What's all the fuss for? I've seen worse in a PG movie.
Really?
It would be corporate suicide if it wasn't.
Success? Didn't realise it was already available.
Wasn't it proven that these brain trainers don't improve brain function?
What an utter load of crap.
"This generation has been way too long, and I say this because you have a lot of developers that work on a new platform, and perhaps will not succeed, so they will wait for the next generation, and will jump on that platform. You could not do that with this generation though. So these developers went elsewhere to see if the grass was greener."
With that kind of attitude they're gonna be jumping around like frogger any...
Well I see it as a problem, balancing a device on your lap in a moving vehicle isn't ideal. Perching a device on your lap and looking down at it is not healthy for your neck or upper torso. I wasn't conveying concern for the portability of the controller, just the practicality of positioning your phone or tablet.
It's addressing a control problem, but now you are left with a positioning of your tablet or phone issue.
Whilst this will certainly add fuel to the mobile vs console debate, in a way it adversely effects the portability.

Maybe worth a punt during lunch at work, but it'll never replace first choice over PC or console.
If that's your argument you clearly haven't played it or at least paid any attention. The game is far more that it was on release, very little has been payable.
One car? I've can't recall how many free cars have appeared but it's far more than one. This next few weeks alone there are eight free cars for those that took part in the GT Academy which everybody was entitled to enter for free, including those that don't even own GT5.
I'm sorry, but one ...
Incorrect mon frere, it's from The IT Crowd, same actor though.
