If anything too much communicating Sony would of shot themselves in the foot like Phil and MS has. Well PS still got lots of console exclusives and this past year has been good. Still on top of stuff that's not announced yet there's still good games coming such as Lost Soul Aside , Astrobot and Phantom Blade 0 at least by 2025. FF7,Granblue Fantasy, Rise of Ronin, Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade this year so far I'm happy.
Well PS already has lots of cards up it's sleeve it's just waiting for the right time to play them. Yes the first party development there have been lots of problems. MS has at least shown something that was decent for them which they really had to. I hope to see something that's not last generation remakes from Sony too.

I do agree Sony needs to start to show their future plans on what they are releasing. I mean as a gamer I been eating good with console exclusives such Granblue Relink, FF7 and Stellar Blade as well as other multiplatform titles so I'm happy in that department personally.

It's actually simple. What doesn't inspire confidence is Square allocating their budgets on the wrong projects such as Forspoken, Avengers, Babylons Fall and Foamstars.
Square has always been multiplatform since PS3/360 days which 80 % of their games are. People kick up a fuss over PS exclusivity but not Nintendo which has more exclusive projects console exclusive from Square.

Its the bias what people don't like and it's clear. Every creator should be allowed on make what they want to create no matter what country it was made longs its ok with age ratings. Last of Us 2 Abby woman built like a man having sex is ok, having sex with a bear is ok in Baldur's Gate 3 and censoring a couple of outfits in Stellar Blade is ridiculous these are all R18 rated games.
The buyout of Activision is a double edged sword with COD and they trying to figure out how to recoup the costs. The recession has been a factor as well as management mistakes.

Xbox release wouldn't of helped. I think a PC release day one with it would be a better idea and they still got Sony exclusive money to help them cover things so I think it might not do brilliant but ok enough in the long term. Namco is just milking the same Sword Art Online with lack of budget as well as anime IPs that don't go to decent developers like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. Namco deserves their losses and no future Dot Hack or Xenosaga remaster :(.

Glad they both like each others games. One took inspiration and one created it. Yoko said ages ago he was interested in it. I enjoyed the demo of Stellar Blade and really loved Nier Automata. I like them for what they are.
I think if there's no exclusives then developers passion isn't there anymore. Some developers that are small take risks have the knack to make the best games that they can make.
There was a lot more passion in developers years ago of developers wanting to make the best of what they can make still money was the main thing. Now it's way more about how much money they can make.
