@anubus
I'm for the acquisition, It's all fair game imo. But yeah even if they had just bought ips from Activision Blizzard people would still cry. The whole buying developers vs plublishers argument is just a way to try and separate what MS is doing from what Sony has done.
@L2K
You're stawmaning and still failed to show how buying a plublisher vs a group of developers is different. MS is a publisher themselves, they're buying Activision Blizzard for their developers and IPs, the same reason why they buy developers and nothing more. Same crap, bigger scale.
I believe someone from the Sony camp mentioned that one of the reasons Sony bought Bungie was so that they could help with making live service games, that's probably what they're doing.
@S2K
"Ps: im not a free tutor, go look up what a publishing house is instead of asking for free lectures"
Translation: You can't decipher the difference because there is none, you're.
@Seph
That's not always the case. Bungie was a established company and was not working as a 2nd party.
You make it sound as if this is something new. It may be the biggest gaming acquisition to date, but as you should know both MS and Sony have been buying studios for well over a decade now.
"Nintendo will be in trouble if they skimp on specs again."
We've heard the same crap with the Switch. Nintendo can get away with it, you should know this already.
And those "tired franchises" continue to be some of the highest selling games, selling a great deal more than 1st party games from the competing system.
I've said it before, kick and scream all you want, it's going to happen.
Holding onto that slither of hope huh.
@1Victor
"with more successful franchises than activision"
You can make all the false claims that you want, the sales numbers don't lie.
There are over 3000 game developers in the the US alone, it's not a monopoly.
Activision Blizzard is worth $59 billion
Capcom is worth $6.5 billion
Square Enix is worth $5.5 billion
In what world would Sony come out a head in that trade off situation? Even from a gamers perspective, way more gamers are interested in Activision Blizzard games.
Even if they were successful, they did in no way have the best line up of games in 2022 as the article suggests .
I'm a Xbox fan too, but I'd be lying if I said they haven't been doing a crappy job in the exclusives department for the last few years. 2023 is looking decent for them, hopefully the games live up to the hype.
Yeah definitely not, it wasn't even in the race.
@crazyCoconut
You're paying $40 on top of $60 for PS+ and that's $100 a year to access Playstations catalog of games, not $40. It's still cheaper than GP if you're not considering that GP is offered at a discount frequently.
$60 PS+
$100 PS+ Extra
$120 PS+ Premium
$60 Xbox Gold
$120 GP
$180 GP Ultimate
One problem with your theory, Xbox hasn't had a year in review since 2018...
If you're able to play these old roms somewhere else, then no not really.
Because Microsoft bought it, some people have a hard time dealing with that. All of a sudden a game that was highly praised and won multiple goty awards, is now "simplified and dull".
I much preferred the controller, stopped playing guitar hero after they dropped support for them in the later games.
Someone at MS was confused, maybe because it was developed as a 2nd party game.
I get that you hate Xbox, but you'd have to be pretty gullible to believe that.
