You are right and I have no trouble being honest and acknowledging Microsoft's effort. They really made their place in the industry and moved the centre of gaming to the west. However, I do hate Microsoft for turning the games industry into a dlc and shooter infested market. I am a really old gamer who started gaming in the 80s. I am now a married man with a child but I still play games as a hobby after a long days work to relax. I have seen the industry pass through various phases and I ...
I don't ever see the XBOX fanboys in Japanese hardware sales articles. LOL! They are always present in the NPD sales articles where they can be proud of XBOX and bash Playstation. XBOX just has "home-ground advantage" in the US where people prefer the kind of games that are available on the system (which means shooters). The rest of the world prefers a little more variety in their games catalogue.
I bet he played and reviewed the game on the PS3... LOL! Man what kind of idiot wrote this review?? How can the author make such a stupid mistake?
Man, I fell for your trap and gave you a hit. It is no use insulting you because you probably love it. Most of the people today have lost self-respect and become shameless so they do not feel the insults. In my part of the world insult is still considered a bigger blow than an injury because people have honour and self-respect in them. Anyway FFVIII is my first and favourite FF. I played it at the time of its release and I will love it forever. I do not mind what others say, although it does ...
FFVIII is the first FF game that I played and it is my favourite. The battle system was just AWESOME. It seemed difficult to me as well in the beginning but as I played I learned it. My favourite thing is the status effect system which is very effective. I love using "pain" in status effect and see the enemy writhe in pain and suffering. LOL. The towns were so atmospheric and beautiful. I just love walking around Balamb city and Balamb Garden. Just walking around listening to the so...
What you western people call "effeminate men" are what women like in the eastern countries. Vaan from FFXII was popular among Japanese girls. The concepts of masculinity and feminine beauty are subjective and depend upon nation and culture. You should not be so self-righteous and arrogant as to believe that only your ideas and concepts are the right one in the world. We in the east do not like the appearance of western male characters as well who seem overgrown, ugly, insensitive an...
There was a lot of killing in the world even when technology and video games did not even exist so why are they blaming games now? Nazis did not play games, Mongols did not play games and terrorists do not play games but they still killed millions.
There are many reasons for fluctuations in stock prices kid. Speculation, rumours, bullishness of market; there are many etc. Investors depend upon information for their purchasing and selling decisions which may be true or false. Ever heard about Stock market crashes because of poor decisions of investors? Maybe you should study some finance as well along with accounting. A 492 million loss does not means Microsoft is going down in flames so there is not need to panic for the investors. It w...
LOL at XBOX fan-boys who are celebrating Microsoft's $18 billion revenue but have failed to see the $492 million loss! Oh and those justifying the loss because of acquisitions should study a bit of accounting because acquisition is not considered an expense and is not displayed in the profit & loss/income statement. The effect will be showed in the cash flow statement where the amount of net cash flow will be reduced. Even in the balance sheet the acquisitions are displayed as assets!...
No it wont. Open world leads to bland, unfocused and forgettable games with forgettable characters and poor stories. These open world games can never give birth to iconic characters like Mario, Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Dante, KOS-MOS, Solid Snake and Crono. Even the source of modern icons like Nathan Drake and Commander Shepherd are not open world games. Please don't point any one or two open world games with great stories and characters because we are talking about what happens on the ave...
Very fun article, enjoyed reading it a lot.
AWESOME!! Just remembered the good old 90s. I really want to play this game. I will cherish it in my library since it is one of a kind this gen. Hopefully, it will sell well and these new shooter and action addicted kids will realize the beauty of classic JRPGs.
I don't know... I think British English sounds graceful and American English sounds crude. Besides Americans are descendants of British and other European. Americans are not actually "American" because they migrated to this land and the real Americans are the "Native Americans". Similarly the real English is the British English and rest are just dialects.
This game is still alive? I didn't hear about the PS3 version for so long that I thought it has become a vaporware. Come on SE release it already. It was released on the PC in September 2010!
I wish somebody would do that for real to the new DmC and the new "Dante".
I think the problem is that Japan is trying to make western games which is impossible for them. The eastern and western games exist because of unique tastes and cultures of the two regions. It is impossible for them to perfectly imitate west and make games like them because they are not used to it. Can an American games developer make a game that will appeal to the Japanese and sell millions in Japan? The answer is NO because Americans are not familiar with the Japanese tastes and culture. I ...
You are absolutely right. Moreover, at the time having a lineup of sequels was bad thing and now it is perfectly fine. The journalists were so crazy about new IPs when PS3 was new and had only sequels but now they treat every sequel like a new IP.
It is funny how Microsoft and their fanboys were claiming at the start of this generation PS3 only has sequels and XBOX has the original IPs. Now after six years the tables have turned and PS3 has the new IPs and XBOX has the sequels. I do not think there is any Playstation franchise that has seen as many sequels as XBOX franchises in this generation. Gears of War began in this generation and is having the fourth game in the series while Halo is having it's seventh game within this genera...
After seeing the demo, I must say that it does looks promising as compared to before. Many of the combat moves are straight from the original DMCs and the combat looks good. However, the graphics aren't what I did expect from a game releasing in 2013. The skin textures from the characters are bland and there is no detail. Similarly the environments are bland and yellowish in tone. But it is possible the later locations may be more varied and inspired. The enemy designs are not very inspir...
Bro, the PS3 can play at 1080p BUT it has to sacrifice graphics in the process.I don't know why so many gamers do not understand the relationship between graphics, resolution and frame-rate. People always seem to think that the next generation will bring next-gen graphics, 1080p resolution and 60 fps. All three of these things depend upon each other and the developers' choice. You see if you increase the graphics (polygon count, texture detail, physics and lighting) and display resolu...
