I skipped MW2 and Black Ops... I rented them both for maybe 2 weeks each on a game pass and played through the campaign and had some online sessions before I returned it. GLAD I DID. I personally had more fun on BF2, currently waiting on BF3. In fear of MW3 being another reskin of old stuff stitched together, I will rent it before considering purchase.

@sak500, I personally apply this method with Madden games, etc. I may even skip 3 or more years between Madden buys. As a...

What would happen to all these racist people when the person most of them have been worshipping all this time, Jesus Christ, shows back up to Earth (as so many believe he will) and turns out he is of Middle Eastern descent? How many would kill themselves? I mean it is bad enough to some of them that the president is black, but God forbid if their savior does not look like them.

Look, I love all my friends the same regardless of color. I encourage all people to be diverse a...

Sony could allow developers for a limited time to publish their content on PSN for a maximum profit. Sony could easily take the games that were scheduled to release on PSN during the downtime and waive any fees, etc. and allow devs to put their games on PSN for a maximum profit. Sony could absorb the small loss on a temporary basis to make good on developers and to help fortify their relationships. It could be a good-will gesture. Even if Sony took just half of their normal take and gave ...

Only when things are going great or convenient. What about when the chips are down? Sony has brought us amazing gaming entertainment for over a decade. How can you claim loyalty to anyone or anything if all you can do is kick them when they are down?

They were hacked and didn't tell anybody, so they decided to pass a bill later on for that.

Bronx, NY –The servers and websites of New York State agencies and authorities have been successfully hacked at least seventy-one times since 1999, according to a report by Senator Jeff Klein.

"concern arose when a hacker broke into the server for the DMNA website last June. The website, which contains information about the activities of the National Guard, h...

Why can't we enjoy XBL and PSN for what they are when they are working as designed? I know everyone has their preference, but I don't dislike any of my friends who prefer the Xbox. Nor do they dislike me because I prefer the Playstation. We all find common ground on games we can enjoy, use the services offered to us, and rejoice in the variety that our consoles give us.

I do have a 360 slim w/Kinect, I have not played it during the outage. Not because I don't ...

At what point did truth telling become a troll?

Nevertheless, if the 3DS is $250, I believe the NGP will probably be $349 - $399. But given the common place for handheld devices like tablets being so darn expensive, I am not sure if these higher prices will look so ridiculous now. I mean you have some netbooks that cost more than full size laptops, and people still buy them.

Well said. It couldn't be put any better or more simple than that. Which is also why most hackers take credit for hacks, because they can, because it is their fault and they admit it.

With 3 free games and 3 dynamic themes for each customer along with a 3 month PSN+ subscription for everyone. Call it the triple threat or some BS - and get PSN back up and running.

I bet there is a nice honeypot waiting for hackers when PSN comes back online - courtesy of the FBI.

People disagree all day, and I understand that many do not work in the IT field. But there are those who seek to find exploits and security holes in an unintended fashion from the original perspective.

It wasn't that long ago that a Google employee found the Zero Day exploit in IE8 and reported it to Microsoft.

I don't know about the rest of you, but if I see anyone wearing one of those Vendetta masks, I'm gonna beat the shyt out of them with a little league aluminum bat. Right to the knee caps first so they can't run.

Is it stuff like this that has them looking over their shoulders, or is it the FBI, DHS, or a combination of all three? I hope it is ALL three and that you lose sleep at night over the stress. This is Anon's moment of infamy that they've asked f...

Right now it is PSN, why, because it is turned off. The only completely secure network is one that is off. There is not one live network completely impervious to hacking or attack.

The pentagon has been hacked, what leads people to believe that PSN, XBL, or any other gaming network can't be hacked?

You can only discourage hacking by making it more difficult, no accessible network is completely safe from hackers.

That the Plaintiff will lose. Judges and Jury sees right through the true intent behind "money-for-nothing" cases. This is like asking for $1 billion dollars for someone running over your dog. It just ain't gonna happen. The plaintiff has to prove the damages are aligned with the amount being sued for or will instantly be viewed as frivolous. There is a lot of smoke you can blow up people's arses, but proving that a PSN hack resulted in a Billion dollar loss is impossib...

Can gouge the customer by step selling old antiquated methods of technology configurations, they will do so and get rich in the process. There is NO/ZERO reasons why Nintendo couldn't include a hdd. Even a stinking dirt cheap 60GB would be better than nothing.

Let's hope they make the right decision and include a hdd.

Let's see how fast we send emails to 77 million email addresses (plenty are fake) and see how long it takes you to do it.

My guess is more than a week, and that is after you research and determine the severity of the security breach. We shouldn't armchair quarterback Sony's security/reporting methods and how we would've done it better than a team of professionals. I am sure our results (A team of N4G'ers) would've proved worse.
